Our Anniversary

I should be writing something profound and meaningful, but I didn't get it done before this a.m. The kids are raring for the day to begin, Stacia is up and wanting attention....but I don't want to let the day go by without saying:

I've been incredibly blessed to be married to this man for 22 years today!

Yes the picture is a bit funky...but it was very late at night during a month of very late work nights. Don't ya wish you could dress in such a fancy suit for work? OK - this is a mess dress and is only for formal affairs....when we were new into the military I delighted Mike's peers and supervisiors by saying we'd be going to the ball and yes...."Mike bought a new mess kit to wear". A mess kit is camping like plate, fork and cup....

OK what was I saying? Twenty-two years and I STILL feel incredibly lucky to have this man in my life. I think the biggest compliment I could give him is that I pray almost daily that God brings a man "just like Dad" to each of my daughters.

  1. Happy Anniversary Mike and De'Etta :) How sweet your anniversary is Valentine's Day. Ours is Sweetest Day and that was pretty sweet, too. I pray you have a blessed year.

  2. Happy anniversary! We missed you at the sweetheart banquet Friday night. It just isn't the same without you :-) We had a great time. I am praying about the fast.

  3. Wow! We have the same anniversary! How neat. I hope you and Mike had a good one. He's probably still tired from all of his long hours this last week. I just loved the Air Force uniform, something about it heh? Oh, I'm having hubby mail your box tomorrow. I haven't been able to get to the PO and figured it'd get mailed faster if he did it for me.

    Heidi - waaa waaa boo hoo this is a grown woman crying. I miss you guys! This chapel doesn't have a Valentine Banquet and since we are in the middle of the ORI and exercises it is a good thing we didn't try to have one! BUT Mike did ask me to stay home from Bible Study and we had a great family night...minus two....waa waa...gotta go and stop this or I'll be useless this afternoon. {G}

Your speech should always be gracious, {as though} seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.
