A Poll -

I've been thinking about this all week.... I'd love to hear some answers.

How much laundry does a "normal family" do? Care to clue me in....say 2 or 3 kids? Or just tell me your family size and how much laundry you do a week.

  1. How much laundry do you do, De'Etta! I used to do 20 loads a week before our front loader, not counting 3 loads of sheets, so I guess 23 loads.

Now I do 8-9 loads on Monday, 2 loads of sheets on Tuesday, 1 load of sheets on Wednesday and 5-6 loads on Thursday. Total of 17-18 loads a week. I am saving 2-5 loads having a front loader. Man, I thought it was more than that! LOL

Am I normal? I do have boys! They get stinky LOL. I rewear my clothes a lot. These guys don't do much of that!

  2. We have 6 in our family and I do 2 load a day. The joke around here is that I do 2 loads a day whether they (the clothes) need it or not (LOL). IOW, I know if I don't do 2 today there'll be 3 tomorros and I don't have time for 3 in a day >VBG>. If I don't have enough for the 2nd load each day I go looking for anything that might need to be washed.

  3. Family of six: Husband is a mechanic...read dirty laundry, two young boys, one teenage boy, one adult daughter.
I would say 12-13 loads a week, including sheets and towels.

  4. Who keeps track? LOL I don't stop to count. It would seriously depress me. I just do it til it's done. LOL Noah does his own, reluctantly, hence the overlarge stack of boys clothes in our laundry room. LOL

  5. There are 7 of us. There is one load of BDUs, one load of whites, one load of towels, 2 loads of sheets, and probably about 5 loads of regular laundry.... so that is about 10 loads....
We have a super large capacity top loading machine.... I bet in Germany I'll have to do way more "loads" as the machine will probably be smaller

  6. I have the biggest top loader you can buy. After much debate we opted for this over the front loaders.

I do at least 5 loads every day...but often take Sunday off. I am not getting all the sheets done each week...and I need to wash curtains soon too. This place is DUSTY! Must be the lack of rain....

30 - 35 loads a week....it will surely go down when Stacia the Spitter outgrows spitting.

And like many of you - Mike's work cloths and every day clothes make for two sets of big guy clothes a day. LOL

  7. I do at least 2-3 loads a day. My kids are all little so they get dirty alot and they also throw clean clothes in with their dirty ones. My 3 yo also just changes his clothes in the middle of the day because he sees something he likes and wants to wear it. I've always got "Mt. Laundry" on my couch or chair waiting to be folded and put away....

  8. We can ours "Mt NEVER REST". I try to have laundry ready to fold after meals. 1/2 clean up and 1/2 fold any laundry that is ready or find other jobs to do.
