A hit by the American band the Eagles in 1976 (dating myself a bit?)....all the words do not apply at all....but this is something of the theme song for Mike and his traveling partner. ::snort:: The song is really fairly dark now that I read all the lyrics...and to think we ran around singing this thing.....LOL
"Welcome to the hotel california
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the hotel california
Any time of year, you can find it here
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before’relax,’ said the night man,
We are programmed to receive.
You can checkout any time you like,
But you can never leave! "
Hi DeEtta,
ReplyDeleteYes, I know the song, but I still don't understand your last post. I want to be sympathetic, like everyone else but still don't understand! {g}
So, are you going to a hotel instead of using the RV? Why is the car going backwards and what is at 79%?

feeling like she's in the twilight zone, but now knowing how her daughter feels most of the time! {vbg}
I'm glad you posted these words--when I read your first post, I was trying to figure out exactly HOW Hotel California fit in. And after checking through the lyrics, yes, it is a "dark" song. But like most other songs, I never paid any attention to the actual words, lol.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it frightening when you go back and listen to the lyrics of the words you blissfully mouthed in your youth?????
ReplyDeleteI had that moment too when I got a sitcom that we'd watched as kids....I couldn't believe how many references there were that were not acceptable to me as an adult but that I simply didn't catch as a youth.
