Highlights of My Tuesday

Hmmm....how do you top fruit flies???? ::snort::

Kim, a friend, dropped by with THESE for me. I've been looking over a year for whole wheat lasagna noodles. I'm also looking for whole wheat manicotti or big shells. If any of you find some do let me know. We LOVE manicotti and lasagna and I limit those meals now as I can't find good tasting 100% wheat noodles. These were at HEB. They are 100% durum whole wheat. I think I remember Becky saying that was just another kind of wheat. Durum semolina is often processed....at least that is what I THINK I remember.
Tonight was Bible Study again. That's a highlight. We are about to begin having "project nights" once a month on base. Everyone will bring THEIR project (albums, quilts etc) and we'll have dinner and work together but separately....we also have a fun lunch/shopping day coming up.
That's it for the day...it's been long and I need to grab some sleep while the sleeping is good.

  1. Durham is the species of wheat that makes the best pasta. Semolina is processed, yes. I think you are OK with this. {g}

    I didn't realise wholewheat pasta was so hard for you to get.

  2. I have a new recipe (not tried, but I want to) for using lasagna noodles for Manicotti and rolling them up. I have not made Manicotti much either because of no ww noodles, but this might solve the problem.

  3. Love the idea of your "project night". We have a monthly scrapbooking day, but sometimes I don't feel like scraping.

    God has been whispering in my year about helping/running some of the women's ministries at church.

    Yikes! I am neither organized or particularly talented in this type of thing. I feel like a rubber band with all the stretching God has done in the last few years.

  4. Ah Debbie - my rubber band sister - you are in my prayers. You'll be stretched and you'll be blessed if God calls you to do it.

    Diann - what a great idea. I guess you'd just sort of roll of the lasagna noodle? It may be easier than trying to stuff the manicotti anyway. LOL

  5. De'Etta,

    Does your Curves have the current Diane Magazine out for you? Spring 2007. On pg. 69 is a whole grain cheat sheet that lists 3 other brands of pasta to compliment what your friend found for you.

  6. Darshia - I got it yesterday! The first article I read was the one on whole grains! LOL

  7. I remember our very first project night here that I organized at a church about 15 years ago! It was so much fun. I was into scrapbooking, but not everyone else was (LOL)... so they all brought their projects.. some even just brought magazines to read! It was so much FUN! I miss those days.
