Well...when THIS is the highlight it's been one of those days. ::snort::
BUT here's the rest of the story. I was getting after Stacia for writing on the couch. I called the older children in and told them that they have GOT to keep the pens and stuff up so that THIS doesn't happen.
Zander looked up and said, "um...I did it". I was thrilled he stepped up and didn't let me continue to think it was Stacia...so that's a good thing. He's still trying to clean the marks and that's the bad thing. I'm not sure what will take it off...if anything....
Good for Zander for speaking up! :) I don't know what tool was used to make the mark (pen, marker, crayon, etc.) What about hairspray? It removes pen stains from clothing. Or Spot Shot?
ReplyDeleteWell done, Zander! Ownership of your mistakes is a hard but important lesson to learn. By the way De'Etta, it's your leather couch, right? So, it's basically skin......maybe you can moisturize the spots out ~ I have a cocoa butter leather conditioner I use on the leather seats in my Suburban.....something like that might work.
ReplyDeleteHuge step toward maturity! Way to go.
ReplyDeleteWow! Love how he took responsibility.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's my leather couch. It's ink pen. I have no clue. We're just using water at this point.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on stepping up Zander!
ReplyDeletePen on sofa....ugh!! lol
Our daughter wrote in pen all over the arms and cushions of our sofa.
We did use some sort of rug cleaner from Home Depot and it did take the pen out. It took a lot of scrubbing but it is out.
Laura
How impressive! And I KNOW what you mean about keeping the pens and pencils out of reach. Our leather sofa has the marks to show for it... knew we should have gotten the BROWN sofa!
ReplyDeleteI'd try Magic eraser. It took the marks off of my couch.LOL
ReplyDeleteLaura - will try a cleaner I have here - didn't want to try things on leather...but hey....maybe...
ReplyDeleteSusan - do they EVER learn to keep those things UP?????
ReplyDeleteLisa - doesnt' magic eraser leave things white?
ReplyDeleteSis:
ReplyDeleteHow proud you all must be of Alexander for owning up to his doings. Way to go! Progress is great!

Well Mom, it is clearly a case of "I love the heart, the behavior needs work"...but that's o.k. The heart is central.
ReplyDeleteDe'etta - I used hairspray one to remove the ink of our leather sofa . . .just spot check it first
ReplyDeleteI'll be trying all your suggestions...one by one. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a good boy!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be good if you posted a picture of your big boys with colored nailpolish all over their chigger bites. LOL OK I know this is not a laughing matter.
I am still trying desperately to teach my almost 9 year old this lesson. Well done, Zander. You must be a proud momma.
