While I was taking care of the grevious attack on my identity, Mike finished reading Jamin's book.
Mike and I took the girls out to lunch. They'll be leaving shortly and we wanted time to chat with them. They'd never had Chick Fil A and knew they wanted a shake...the boys were working....so we went.
I sat in the mall and tried to take these without embarassing Jamin...but Tim O - the boss noticed me and made Cy wave at his mom...
We've been debating family phone plans so stopped at Sprint to see what they have to offer. Verizon doesn't service our area but there is coverage here. Huh???
Arielle made oven friend chicken (with just a bit of help from Krista and I - we are a big group) for dinner.
We began a phase 10 game at 8:00 p.m. At 10:00 p.m. I opted to go watch a Jerry Lewis movie with Stacia and Krista. I fell asleep within 5 minutes. I think the game finally broke up at
midnight. I have no idea who won.

Josiah and Jamin got home and played some slapping game next to us.

Mom demonstrated why it takes her longer than Dad to read a book. ::snort::
I've lived in cultures where New Year's Day is incredibly important. It is felt that what you do the first day of the year will determine how your time is spent the rest of the year. We spent the day with family, played games, and ate nutritious food - that's a good start. LOL
NO! Please NO! I am taking a stand now that what I did the first day of the year is not how my year will go! I did laundry alllllll day! And there is still more today! Sorry....I kind of panicked when I read that on your blog. I hate laundry. I did crochet and finished a poncho for Audrey. My kids left for the farm at 1:30. So will my 2008 be filled with laundry, finished projects, and special time with my husband? The kids were in good moods and played well together. Ok, well, that is an ok way for my 2008 to go. I can handle the laundry if all the other happens too. I think I will just copy this for my Blog post!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I'm glad you guys had some alone time with your girls. When will Krista be back? I think I will try to snatch her for a day. She appears to be a pretty handy girl to have around!
God Bless.
Amy
Sounds like a great day! I'd love to know where you got the apron pattern. My PC aprons slide, and I want to make some out of cute fabric, and am too chicken to use my apron as a guide. Yours are nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Amy. Hopefully what we did yesterday will not determine our year. We cleaned, I fell and hurt myself, most of us are sick and Doug and I bickered all day. I need a better year this year than the last 2. I cannot handle another one like the last two!
Thanks for sharing your day :)
Yes!! I spent most of the day on the internet catching up on reading blogs!
ReplyDeleteI know my daughter's facebook password and I've been so tempted to change her site. The only reason I haven't is I thought I might mess it up--she wouldn't think that was so funny. I'll have to grab a teen to help me.
I love the picture of your mom. I read books just like she does.
Let's see . . .I did laundry, caught up on blog reading, spent time with the kids and them time with my hubby . .. not too bad inspite of the laundry.
ReplyDeleteHey De,
ReplyDeleteI am now just catching up on my blog readings since Thanksgiving. I noticed that Amy left a comment. Is she a devoted blog reader of yours? That crazy Amy, gotta love her. Anyway, I am glad you had such a great time with your girls and parents. How wonderful it is to be around family this time of year. Well I am trying to get to my blog today. I haven't posted since Bella's bday on the 13th of December. I am caught up to date with your blog now. YAY~~~
LOL Amy - well maybe you could overlook the laundry part. LOL
ReplyDeleteKelly - we just used the apron I had from Bread Beckers as a pattern. We learned some things from the first one. I'll be trying to finish the remaining 3 alone. We shall see. LOL
ReplyDeleteDonna - I must admit that I'll never forget to sign out of a site again. LOL If you want to teach a fun lesson do it - but FIRST go to her profile and such and save the html code in a word file. Then if you DO mess it up, she can paste it all right back in where it goes. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat apron is cute!
ReplyDeleteYou need to quit stalking those poor boys while they work.LOL
I enjoyed hearing about the importance of NY day in other countries. I'm with Amy, though. I hope that doesn't hold true for me because I WORKED all day - as in I hired an organizer to come help me with a few things and the
ReplyDelete1st was her first da here (LOL)! I don't plan to work ALL YEAR! I hope the organizer and the cleaner will eventually catch me up enough to where I can enjoy some free time!
Regarding MySpace - yep that's one of the things my brother talked about when he was giving reasons why myspace was different than blogger and therefore not as safe for kids... forgetful ones anyway.. You were fortunate - I'm sure you can imagine what some people come back to on their space!
ReplyDeletehey Detta,
ReplyDeleteI bet the girls are "hooked" on those shakes huh? Although with it being 18 today, brrrr!! Cute aprons! I have seen those and they are cute! I would love to have an embroidery machine next though! Hmm New years. DH and boys watched football, played games, etc. I did lesson plans and more lesson plans. Getting geared up for school next week!

OH OH! I forgot to ask you.....How was your mom's visit to her brothers house for Christmas??? Were they surprised?
ReplyDeleteBeth
I love the apron! I still wear the one I made in high school. It might be time to update the look. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! I'm glad you had such a sweet day with your family. It must be so hard for them to go. I have a few years yet, but I'm already dreading it.
Love the fabric you chose for the apron!
