I've only just returned from a 10 day vacation and was catching up on blogs. I generally just "scan" and read a little, but had to read every thing you had posted. I am so sorry to hear about the van and everything in it. I have been praising right along with you for all the great things (finding the van, etc) and in prayer that things go well for you. I would mention that you need to check with the passport office (tourist) regarding the need for 2 signatures on the passport requests. It was my understanding that both parents needed to be present. Even with a power of attorney...this happened to us when Scott traveled to Germany ahead of us. We DID have our DoD passports, but I wanted the tourist ones for additional travel (as, TECHNICALLY, you're not supposed to travel anywhere with the DoD passports). I was told that even with the POA, it wasn't good enough and needed both parents present, etc. So do be sure to check on that. You certainly will get the tourist passports much more quickly!
Prayers going up for your family as you endure this time.
Linda - I have 5 signed D-3035 forms....I think that's the number. They were signed by Mike and notarized before he flew to Japan so that I can get the kids' a passport without him.
I still keep thinking there is some small detail that we've missed and I'll be turned back....so keep the suggestions coming.
In late response to your post on 7/19/09 I must say the first thought that went thru my mind was... "Bloom Where You are Planted" I needed that thought today. Thanks. Beautiful flowers. love/prayers --- Mom T.
Your speech should always be gracious, {as though} seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person. Colossians 4:6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
