Watermelon Frostie

I saw this recipe for Watermelon Frosties here....it didn't work this way for us...but we used the basic idea. I plan to buy more melons now that they are plentiful and cheap and freeze them...just wish my FREEZER was here! Seriously, visit Katie's site and check out her cool photos.

3 C of frozen watermelon
Almond milk - or milk of choice (I used LOTS - enough so it's the consistency you like - original called for 1/3 cup but I couldn't blend at that much)

I did not add sweetener - the almond milk has some and we liked the watermelon taste.

That's it. Blend. Drink. Ah.....

  1. Yup, we chop and freeze watermelon and use it all year long. Our favorite is making lemonade with lemon juice, water and sugar...then making slushes with watermelon chunks. Yummo!

  2. I love lemonade but the sugar content always gives me a headache....I should try this for the kids.

  4. It was GREAT.....and even eating it frozen without the drink was refreshing....I plan to buy several as soon as I have a freezer.

  5. We froze watermelon last year and blended it into lemonade KoolAid (with 1/4 of the sugar). We tried these watermelons frosties, also adding quite a bit more milk than the original recipe (based on your comments). I had to add a bit of sugar too, as I'm really not a watermelon fan. Trevor said they were the BEST thing he'd EVER had, lol. Thank you!
