The base is handling our taxes (for the last year). Our tax return has now been rejected three times. We read Jonah this a.m. Somehow it seems appropriate that we have begun to throw children overboard as 15 Apr approaches. Yep, we're submitting it without Krista tomorrow. We'll see if they take it now. ::snort:: Maybe we'll be down to the average 2.3 children by the time we pay Uncle Sam.

YEA! I can see your blog entries again! I know you didn't think it was the template before and maybe it wasn't, but now that the old one is gone I can see your blog again!
I was so excited to be able to see your blog I forgot to say - taxes... ugh... this is the last year we can claim our oldest and I'm sure not looking forward to losing that deduction!
what?! loosing your children???
it seems strange to think of taxes, we always do ours ASAP!
We do not go to the base (we did once) but you know as a military member you can use Tax Slayer for free. That is what we do every year! It is super easy and fast!
Well Cindy - BLOGGER said it was IE and since it began to work for most before I changed templates - I'd guess it was something with IE.....and could happen again at any time...the thrill of the unknown. ::snort::
Kristine - I had simply used TT last year when Mike was deployed but he likes to support the eager beavers at the base....and I feel bad for this girl. It has taken her forever to try to get ours done because she couldn't figure out how to add depenedents and then it's been refused 3x now. She's really trying and it's gone beyond irritating to hysterically funny by now. LOL I'm just hoping we don't have to file an extension. Actually I have it all ready to go on TT and if it's rejected again I think we'll tell her to just forget it and we'll submit it ourselves. LOL
I'm so glad you posted this. We have to file a state income tax form this year for the first time- well Ian used to file them in CA I guess before we were married. We keep forgetting to get the forms. Something always seems more important!
Dh says there is a form to use when one has more than 4 dependents - he used it online this year when he did our taxes. I would ask to speak to the actual JAG in charge of the tax center since it sounds like the preparer is a bit lost in this situation
Love your new blog template!
I never knew that there was a different form to use if you have more than 4 kids! I just used Turbo Tax and it went through just fine and I didn't have to lose my fifth one for it. Good thing too. We needed her.LOL
LOL Becky - been a bit distracted with that new darling of yours????
Renee - yep - I found the form on TT with no problem. I guess that there was some hang up with the computer program - I really do NOT like this new computer program the military is using - seems that when they used TT it was much more user friendly. LOL Anyway - we took of Krista and submitted it again today. Mike talked with the CPA who did K's return and he offered to file an ammendment for us for free....the problem is she wasn't claiming herself but the CPA did and then filed an ammendment not claiming her...we THINK that is what the hold up is.
The lady at base said she refuses to file new airmen's returns until they call their parents and make sure they've not already been claimed elsewhere. LOL
Lisa - TT makes it a breeze - they just fill out the extra form for you....but the base is now accessing the IRS computer directly or something instead of using outside software - well they are using IRS software...Um....NEED I SAY MORE????? ::snort::
LOL! Yes, the government filling forms for different branches of the government just spells trouble.lol
LOL Lisa - it does sound scarey doen't it?
