We had a great day! Jared has a sharp wit.
Here he poses for a photo while cracking comments about homeschoolers and field trips to Wal-mart.
Isn't this a cool hat? The lights and the white pompom light up and blink.
Jared found all his gifts and we headed for Olive Garden at lunch time. The salad was "ok". It seems to be pure bagged iceberg salad with a few olives, tomatoes and onions sliced over the top....oh and the mandatory jalepeno. Next time I'll try to remember to ask them to put the dressing on the side. I think the silly McDonald salad may win this contest.
Back at home Stacia makes all shopping worth the trouble.

Jared really wanted to buy her a rocking horse but they were out of his budget range. He settled for a big floppy stuffed horse. I think she'll ride on it anyway and love it.

One more shopping day to go - Arielle's. We aren't sure if we should try to fit her day in in the morning tomorrow or wait until next week. She doesn't want to rush. She wants to have a lesiurely lunch with Mom.....

De'Etta, if Mike or the boys are ever feeling adventurous, I have a pattern for the cutest rocking horse.
My dad has made one for each of our families. It just takes basic tools, nothing fancy.
I'm sure Stacia will love the stuffed horse.
Um, I am almost afraid to admit, I love Olive Garden salads!
What a GREAT Christmas tradition, to take the children shopping separately. :)
I can't imagine how you fit in shopping with each child. You are my hero. :) I would definitely believe all the "Yay, De'Etta, She's the Best!!" press. Enjoy it and feel loved. LOl!
Debbie - THEY ARE FEELING ADVENTURSOME - or I will feel adventuresome. That would make it even more special.
LOL Jen - I'll admit there was a lot of it - what's not to like about all you can eat. It's when they brought the second bowl and it was OBVIOUS they dumped a bag in and sliced a few things on top.....and DROWNED it in the dressing...that they lost my vote. ::snort:: I'll remember to order dressing on the side from now on so that I can regulate how much I get....and as for the ice berg...most restaurants go that route.
Kristine and Kathy,
The tradition began when we were questioned about shop lifting one year.....::snort:: That would make me worst mother of the year, right?
It has been a special way to have individual time with each child during the busy season.
Hmmm.....maybe it's time to write another Big Family Myth entry. LOL
The reason Jared couldn't combine with another child for Stacia's gift is that they all bought for her first and there was no one left to combine with. ::snort::
De'Etta, patterns and instructions will be on their way...probably not until after Christmas, but soon.
After Christmas will be wonderful! Thanks much.
