This is just too strange...you getting the same weather as we are. I didn't think TX got weather that cold. Brrrr. Have you been bike riding in this? You be sure to be careful!
I rode last week but cried UNCLE today. My boys were very nervous about me going out riding - the streets were a glare of ICE....
I have my ticker to be miles on the bike and I will count a 30 minute workout as 6 miles on the bike....so basically it worked out to a 30 min workout 5 x a week on my yearly goal....that way if weeks like THIS happen I can still exercise and not feel like I'm failing on my goal. LOL Because when I was failing to move the ticker it seemed to me pointless to walk or use a video. ::snort::
I'm learning WHY exercise is so very important to me by reading the Thyroid Diet so I'm very motivated....
I need to pull out my FIRM DVD's and weights and get busy again. I kind of took a year hiatus from working out but I can tell my body needs it. I always had more energy when I was being consistent.
It's hard to get motivated when the weather is bad, isn't it? Rain and high winds don't bode well for me getting out walking at the moment.
I have a couple of exercise videos but they seem to be aimed at young, fit people. And I don't fall into either of those categories. (Well I am 'people' I suppose.) LOL!
LOL - another day with Thoroughy Fit - which I'm not. Dorothy - I'm with you. I decided today that it didn't matter WHAT I did as long as I kept my heart rate up....so when they got a bit to peppy or flouncy for me I just marched or danced and continued when they settled down. All this without the step and my heart rate is still maxing out - sad.
De'Etta, this is exactly the way my thinking is going. Time exercising is so much more important than miles! I can go alot farther on a bike, but not work as hard as a 30 minute video. I can hike all day long and maybe only do 3-4 miles, but you sure work if the terrain is tough.
Getting that heart rate up and moving the muscles is the key...not how far you go.
Maybe I need to change my goals to minutes exercised, not miles? Hmmm.
I need to know more about these FIRM DVD's....I haven't used mine for so long that they are all videos...but I got rid of all the Denise Austen, Kathy Smith, Stormio O'Martian ones....glad I kept this one. Except my knee is hurting today....so obviously I'm not doing low impact enough. sigh.
Just read that join pain is a symptom of hypothyroidism so maybe that explains my unexplainable joint pain - sounds as good as the "start of MS". LOL

Ahh...doesn't it remind you of AK? I couldn't plug my van in for a week because I couldn't get the ice off the plug! {g}
