Deal of the Week!

Albertsons - $1 for a half gal. We go through 2 gal a day..... I bought 30 1/2 gals....and plan to go back before the the sale is over. The date is 2 weeks away; but the strange looks were intimidating me. ::snort:: Buying this amount saved me $22.50. I plan to buy the same again....bringing the savings to $45.

Viva la lost leads!

great deal!!..... but WHERE do you have room for 15 gallons of milk? Do you have an empty fullsize spare fridge????

I DO have an outside fridge...which is NEEDED when you have 9 children. It was REALLY needed when a few years back when 3 were "teens".....

This milk fit on two shelves in a fridge....and I could have laid some on side on top....so I'm waiting until Monday because I meet the truck that day and then I'll know how much more I can fit in.

Milk also freezes and thaws and drinks just fine. But I'd need to buy significantly more to have to freeze it.

Oh Wow!! I would have stocked up too. I try to find any deal that I can on milk. We go through a gallon a day here. My husband always jokes about either buying stock in a milk company or just buying the cow. lol.

De'Etta,

Wow! Great deal! I thought I did good when I got milk for .99 a gal. the other day because it would 'expire' in 2. I only picked up 4extra but we only have an upright freezer and a side by side fridge right now. I hope to get a chest freezer and a second fridge sometime to be able to stock up better. How do you store your bulk things? I am looking for ways so I can stock better.

lol. I can just imagine the looks you got with all this!! I get strange looks and comments when I buy groceries in bulk, but I've NEVER done anything like this. :^) We buy milk from a local Mennonite farmer for $2.50/gallon.

That's funny... great :0)

I only have three boys and I buy milk six gallons at a time, but your picture takes the cake!

Could MIke give his tricks for freezing milk?? I tried a few times and had no luck..... We too have a second fridge - I guess it would just be FULL if I bought that much milk

Our Albertson's doesn't have this deal. When I checked online and had to put in our zip code, it said that the Albertson's in the town near us is part of Albertson's LLC and sent me to a different website. I guess that's why we don't have that deal. I haven't had any luck freezing milk either. It gets little flakes in it, and the kids refuse to drink it.

Welll.....I suspect that if you live in a big family of milk drinkers....you don't worry to much about the little flakes. ::snort:: Seriously, we shake it up real well and use it in cereal, baking, drinking.....but I won't need to freeze any of this - I could get another 15 gal and it would be gone before the 23rd date....

Also - in a family this size, I'm sure there are one or two who don't drink thawed milk - but it doesn't matter if the majority will. ::snort::

I've not had to freeze milk for over 13 years...we drink it way faster than the sell by dates arrive.

GREAT BUY! Don't you LOVE those deals.

Man, I'd even buy lots for that price. We freese it with no problem. Just shake hard etc. In cereal who cares about flakes cuz they melt fast.

Bet people do look but who cares.......... just think of a quick funny remark and see how they react. :)
