Friday's Advent Hunt

Tonight's clue: "In the real world, this would be really cool.

I had a hard time with this one....but the kids figured cool - play room in the garage - and that led to...

From 09 December

Ah...."A Charlie Brown Christmas" in the freezer of the play kitchen. Filmed in 1965, this movie is one of the few secular movies that retains the Christmas story. I'm glad we've added it to our collection. The younger ones thrilled at Charlie and Snoopy....we'll have to see if there are other movies we can get from netflix.

We are enjoying our Jesse Tree Devotional readings from Reformed Church in America. They are SHORTER than what we've done in the past....but just the right length with the Scripture reading and then discussion. We are also using the DVD Advent Calendar this year. I'll have to review it seperately. We're only 4 days into it. Tonight's clip made me want to find a performance of Handel's Messiah to attend.

Is your playroom cold now, in the winter? I'm looking forward to your review of the DVD Advent Calendar. It looks interesting, but I couldn't really tell anything about it from the web.

I can't wait to hear about the Advent DVD! That might be something we could handle (LOL)! Hmmm.. wonder if I should order it now even though we'd be really behind? Are you REALLY liking it enough that I should order today... free shipping from amazon.

Jen - it's cold...Stacia still plays out there all the time - we do have a heater. I'm not loving it. LOL

Cindy - the blurbs are short...3 - 5 minutes a day. I AM enjoying it. The excerpts are on a variety of topics - which is why I'm listing them so folks can get an idea of what its like. Some are symbols, relgious, secular.....but they are good. They have 3 different volumes. We got the first one. LOL I wouldn't say you are too behind to enjoy it this year...but I'm not sure it's a "get it now or you'll regret it" type purchase. I don't know. I do know that it is a very simple way to count down Advent, it appeals to a wide range of ages....info that even our adults are enjoying.....though the younger ones may not love it as much.....they get the nightly hunts. LOL
