I Don't Want to Go Bye Bye

Poor Stacia had a meltdown as we left our home last night. She broke away from Arielle and Krista and refused to be put in the van. I was getting a tad bit irritated - it was late.

I went out to help her in the van...she was beside herself.

I grabbed her, hugged her tight, forced her head to my shoulder and began to listen.... "I don't want to go bye bye. I don't want to leave Stacia's house. I don't want to leave Stacia's house. I don't want to go bye bye anymore..." ::sniff::

I rubbed her back, held her tight and told her over and over, "It's going to be alright." She relaxed and fell asleep.

I realized later that I feel like Stacia. I want someone to hug me tight and assure me that it's going to be alright. Of course, I find this in God. The best place to find it. I also shared with Mike and he diligently tried....but the snoring sort of took away from the effect. ::snort::

As I tried to get to sleep it hit me again...cherish this time, cherish Stacia's house, the friendly town, the transition of two sons from youth to adult...but Stacia is clinging (as is to be expected for a little one who has known nothing but San Angelo and Stacia's home her entire life). I need to remember - cherish/not cling today and tomorrow, especially.

Do pray for us as we tie up loose ends so that we can depart early tomorrow. We meet the realtor this a.m. Mike is signed off base. We have our tickets to Japan.

I've welcomed each extension....but emotionally I think it's time for all of us to say the goodbye...

Glimpses of the day:

Some folks will do anything for a good connection...

Cy held his arms wide...Stacia ran to Krista....then Cy and then Jamin tried the arm thing and she complied.

Beatrix, the wonder dog, has chosen an old suitcase as her domain.

We finally brought down the stash of chocolate from the top shelf in the master bdr closet.

I guess in some ways our short 1-2 yrs assignments had their positive aspect - not as much time to grow roots. Praying for your family during this transition.
While we were less than thrilled about moving to Korea, we ended up making great friends while there and having wonderful opportunities.

Poor Stacia, I know how she feels too. She'll probably feel the same way about Japan in 3 years. I'm praying for y'all as you pull out.

Sis:

Please feel our arms around you even tho we are far away. We'll join you in the tears of goodby when you get here.

Had some of it yesterday as Dad brought U'Jim to the school so I could hug him good-by. Really coult be that we won't ever get to see each other again. God knows that one. Talked to Jimmy last night about his dad. Long distance relationships can be full.

Whatever. Loving and hugging you close. I sure do miss being able to pig-out on sweets, ice-cream and chocolate. :):):)

Praying for this hard transition. So many variables with the different ages and such.

Oh, hard, hard, hard. (praying for Stacia & all of y'all)

My 17yo said last week that maybe she wants to pick a college to go to that's "close to home" meaning our OLD home. And then she said she knew "the way from here to our house" -- HERE being where we live.

On the other hand, my 7yo has made friends with little boys across the street who have a great big water slide thing in their backyard. And so he has now finally declared that he doesn't want to "move back home."

Also, I LOVE the picture of you with the laundry basket over your head.

De'Etta,
We will be in fervent prayer for you all. I'm so thankful God allowed our paths to cross. I hope they cross again. You know you could come back and settle in San Angelo. HeeHee God has blessed me so in getting to know you. We really enjoyed the road trip and will forward the high 5 pic. And, know we'll check in on the boys from time to time. Roy reminded us all on the way home to remember to have Josiah and Jamin for supper periodically.
Blessings to you all,
Julie

Hard stuff you're going through. Hopefully the anticipation of the unknown will kick in as you take off.
