*Thou Shalt Not Grill* by Tamar Myers

I’ve been trying to stretch this series out all year. The children bought this for me last year for Christmas. They know I love to read books “in order” and I love to immerse myself in a series.

This has been a fun series, as I’ve mentioned before. In *Thou Shalt Not Grill” we accompany Magdalena Yoder to one of the wackiest “family” reunions/town celebrations you’ll ever attend. I hope. The edition of the Babesters Jewish mama to the small Amish/Mennonite town of Hernia is hilarious.

This series is simply pure, relaxing, FUN! I don’t sweat the “waste of time” to read it because frankly….reading is how we choose to relax around here…and we all need some time to let our minds “veg out”. Tamar Myers does that for me.

I have ONE book left to read and it’s October….Assault and Peppered….but I checked at Tamarmyers.com and a brand new one came out in Feb of 2006. I bet I can stretch these into November.

I’d love to hear ideas for a series to request for this year for Christmas. It was a wonderful gift.

DeEtta,
So do you have all of these books and if so would you consider loaning them to me? I'm just about finished with the JoAnne Fluke murder mystery series that I borrowed from a fellow SHS'er and then I'll be ready for a new series next year. Have you read all of the JoAnne Fluke ones? If not, I've enjoyed them. I keep one in the car and it's what I read inbetween errands or while waiting here and there for the kids or fast food (LOL). Did you see that there is a new John Grisham book out? I think it's a reality one though so I don't know how it'll be compared to his others.

I've just started reading the Harmony series by somebody somebody Gunn...Phillip maybe?? I'm too lazy to get up and look lol. It is cute and sweet and reminds me somewhat of the Mitford books. Although the people are Quakers. Jordan just told me my MIL is also reading this...so I am going to have to call and chat with her about it LOL. She wants Jordan to read them, but he is more into Peretti and Dekker, not sure he'd like these.

I've tried to read one Tamar Myers book and I can't quite get into it. Maybe because it is somewhere in the middle? Maybe I should read them in order LOL. I love to read a series. Good for you stretching it all year! I read the Yada Yada series (only 5 books) in 5 weeks UGH. I read the Dianne Davidson Mott books in 2 1/2 months! Authors just don't write fast enough for me LOLOL....

QB - I don't have them all. I got the first few from the library. I'd recommend finding the first one or two from you library to see if you like them. Some hate them. I think they are hilarious and good, mindless fun. LOL

I've read quite a few of the JoAnne Flue novels. I had read the last one but there may be new ones out now. I should check. I need to check on Diann Mott Davidson and Mary Daheim too.
