Weigh In -

WooHOO! I KNEW it was only a matter of doing what I KNEW I needed to do. My "paper brain" is really helping me. I made a sheet up a long time ago with the Thin Within Observation/Correction chart on it, Food Log and hunger scale. I added a box to chart exercise and water consumption. I also added a spot to write my last weight and a spot to mark my thyroid meds. Oh yes...and I wrote out "my" hunger scale to help me objectively evaluate where I am on the hunger scale. It's all in one spot. It's clicking. I lose two lbs last week and three lbs this week. I'm sure it will shortly settle back down to 1/2 - 1 lb a week...but at least something is moving.

A friend began doing weight watchers and commented a couple of weeks ago about how the food log/points really helped her because she didn't want to WRITE down that extra bit of food etc. Bingo - I remembered my paper brain....I knew she was right. Thin Within aims to have you internalize the principles but offers these tools to help you until you do. I HAD internalized the principles...but had slipped. Until I can do this by second nature again, I'll use my paper brain. Now - if I could just get out every day for 30 minutes....

Super job! It is always so nice to step on that scale and see smaller numbers.
Way to go!

Great Job De'Etta! Yep, when I keep a food journal, I feel more in control. I am eating way too much sugar this week. I am storing up lol. Starting Monday I am going to quit refined sugars and white carbs. Kinda scarry. But I've read that it may help my fibro to eat a hypoglycemic diet. I am desperate to feel good and I'll give up my beloved sugar HA HA! I had to wait until Monday because Doug and I are celebrating our anniversary this weekend. 2 1/2 days without the kids and sugar withdrawal do not mix. So I'm ejoying the sugar this week !

Kelly - so are you giving up all refined sugar? That would rule out the more natural ones like rapadura and stevia too?

Can you do honey? Agave nectar is popular in our co-op for a sweetener AND they say it doesn't have the sugar spikes that sugar does - that hypoglycemics and diabetics can enjoy it in moderation.

Switching from white flour to wheat isn't bad at all....except for tortilas. I still can't find any that I like....to make I mean.

I'm glad the weather has warmed up here again so I can get out and walk. I've had to change my walking time from the morning to the afternoon though... it's dark and COLD in the a.m.s this time of the year, but just right from 2-4 (LOL).... I now take a walk instead of getting my nap time (LOL). Not that I ever napped for 2 hours anyway, but I do try to take a 20 min nap in the afternoons after school.
Anyway... I'm the same way with WW. I can't really see spending the $$ to go to a meeting that doesn't even fit my schedule when I have all of the tools right here at home to do what I need to do.

Thanks for the encouraging words, ladies.

QB - yeah - I'm having to adjust the time for my biking too. Certainly - it boils down to doing what I know to do - regardless of the program.....but I was so close to signing up for WW - until I relized I don't have time for a weekly meeting and all the other tools are very similar anyway to the TW tools. LOL
