Why does EVERY group I belong to plan things for the 4th week of the month????? One of those questions that make you go "hmmm..." and better yet...having experienced this phenomenon for years, WHY do I continue to schedule added things during the 4th week???
Monday - Cy was off, got called in for a manager's meeting, studied at the library.....
SAGE - Shop Natural co-op, Mom's Night Out (which I had to miss)
School - Arielle sat down with Nolan and read all the couch school to him - WOW!
Me - copied brochures, paid bills, did co-op paperwork and more things but I can't remember what....
Tuesday - Today I have a Parish Advisory Counsel meeting at 11:30, Curves at 2:00, Bible Study at 6:30.
Really, I think I will begin skipping life during the 4th week of the month - it's crazy. AND if I'm ever in charge of planning a monthly event I will REMEMBER not to chose the 4th week of the month as that is certainly a popular week. LOL

De'Etta, when I talked to Cindy yesterday I was telling her I LOVE reading your blog. I am so amazed that you are able to post everyday. I have been able to but I think mine is so boring compared to yours. Cindy quickly reminded me you have almsot double the children than I do . . so you have a lot more chances of getting some fun stuff posted! I have not been able to check everyone's blog for the last week. This is the first day I have been home with nothing to do for awhile so I am going to try to catch up on everyones blogs today. I read back on yours to catch me up . . .sounds like you and the kids have been having a great time and that you are enjoying the warm weather. We are back in the 80's this week so it feels like late MAY here :-) Also, I LOVE your new haircut . .. you look great!
Hi DeEtta,
I've not come across the 4th week phenomenon, but I'll looking out for it now.{g}
So, are you a brunette again now?
Your pic really shows the new slimmer you!
Dorothy
We used to have this phenomanon when I ran a small HS group. When we changed it from weekly to monthly I used the 3rd thursday of the monthn because Third Thursday sounded good. Then somehow every other group or thing we were involved with seemed to be extra bust the third week too. It was strange!
Anyway to your post, cool that Arielle read the couch school to Nolan. So you've joined curves? That's the only one that I have ever considered joining but in the end I didn't want to drive that far a couple times a week. Hope you emjoy it.
Sis: I have quite a few "curves". I don't need to join!!! I'D LOVE TO HAVE THE DETERMINATION TO GET RID OF SOME OF MY MISPLACED "CURVES"!!!
iT IS SURE COLD HERE. Have had slushy rain and on the hills around Springfield/Eugene there was visible snow. Suppose to get colder this week. SO WINDY! THE MARCH winds are here but the winter weather is also here. Don't enjoy the combination. :):):)

Arielle: What a sweetie you are to help you Mom by reading to Nolan. Thank you from G'Pa & G'Ma for being such a big help.
love/prayers
In Garmisch the problem is Tuesdays. For some reason almost every group meets on Tuesdays - Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Club Beyond Booster Club, etc
Emily - are you going to be able to see Cindy?
You're blog has been very intersting....I enjoy seeing the mentoring relationships you have with so many.
Dorothy - watch out for the 4th week thing! It's murder.
Yes - I WAS brunette - well I WAS blonde - born that way....then after high school I got brunette - slowly. I got tired of not recognizing myself and so when lighter....then a few months ago Heather asked me if I'd like to go my natural color with a few highlights....I said whatever. I was SHOCKED when she took the towel off and it was so dark. She showed me the match and yep - this is my color...dark as it is.
Jodi - I did join Curves. Third Thursday - I like the sounds of that too.
I'm looking for a night for scrapping at the chapel....was thinking Friday....but NOT FOURTH FRIDAY!
I'm comforted to hear that this is a problem in the EAST and even in GERMANY! LOL
Mom - you may like curves.....
I posted earlier and then accidentally deleted it!
Why not just plan on not doing much "school"/table work each last week of the month? Your older kids can manage their time a little easier, but your youngers can know that Mom's busy, they have activities planned, and they can maybe be assigned some independent reading, puzzles, or arts and crafts stuff when they are home . . .
Make it a week to enJOY!
You've got a good point - this is basically what happens anyway....actually we have been doing 2 weeks of TOG a week and this week we'll get one done....
I'm also considering moving the youngers and possibly Jared (Jamin will do his own thing, Cy will be in college) to a 9 week on/2 weeks off schedule.....a friend moved here from CO Springs (or Denver) and said that her kids were on that schedule in school and she loved it.
I LOVED schooling year round - we started in Jan but when the older ones pushed into high school it wasn't practical. They NEEDED to know certain things by test time, they wanted to have their summers free for missions etc, they wanted to graduate in MAY and not DECEMBER. LOL So we've gone pretty "traditional" with our school year the past 4 years....but I'm thinking.....
