Nearly done with my lists....no cute graphics....just lots of tiny books and such. ::snort::
Sometime today, while working at the computer and surfing for URL's, I decided to host a Tapestry Tea. They'll send me a DVD with Scott and Marcia talking, catalogs, brochures and the Egyptian Unit Study (which is 3 or 4 weeks of Year 1) to pass out. I figure there may be some here who are curious and even if they don't plan to change their curriculum they would like to see TOG in person. Who knows? It may be a way to find a few Year 1 families to "co-op" with. I'm not sure how to get the word out - I want to do it early in June. Maybe I'll make a hand out for this weekend's event...we shall see.
Cooked Cindy's Alice Springs Chicken today - without bacon. I barely miss it any longer, though I could have used Turkey Bacon (dog treats as my boys say - best to just skip it). We steamed up more asparagus too.
I got the weekly produce order in. I think we're really nearing a broccoli break...but I had lots of $ this week to spend... a big week. LOL
Well - off to finish co-op newsletters and resource lists.

I hardly ever use the bacon myself..none of us girls particularly like bacon. what I REALLY love about it is the honey mustard sauce!
We had an "unofficial" tapestry tea last year... We already had excerpts from Marcia's talk when she was hear at the convention about co-oping so we used it and went over the manuals we had already purchased.
Sounds like fun. I'm sure God will bring just the right families together to meet the needs of those interested.
What a fun idea. Hopefully you will get the few families you would need to have a small TOG group.
I've been working on my "spring thing" reading list and realized how woefully low I am on fiction right now! I've been doing so much stitching that I haven't been reading as much. Looks like a trip to the library is in order and a visit to PBS for some new paperbacks!
The tea sounds like a wonderful idea. Praying you find a family to do activities with next school year.
DeEtta,
I think I ordered by TOG through the link on your blog; I know I meant to do it that way... I hope you got credit for the "advertising"
I thought I was missing bacon. Then while stranded at the hospital with Doug on Monday, I had a sandwich with bacon on it (beggers can't be choosers lol). It was cold and icky. So the next day, at a different hotel, I thought I'd try some bacon. Gross! I took a bite and gave it to Doug. I am happy to be done wit that craving lol.
I think a handout at the hsing thing this weekend would be a great idea. I'm sure you could whip up a brochure in the middle of the night tonight LOL. I'd love to come to the Tapestry Tea. I'm so out of touch with hs'ers in my area. No wonder I am burned out. Although I don't fit in with any of them...so I'd be burned out or feeling left out lol.
Renee - I DID get a note that someone had ordered through the link. Thanks....I think they give me $15 per $100 spent....
You - know - it couldn't have been $15 per $100 - hmmm...but it was a nice credit towards my next order. Thanks again, Renee.
Kelly - I had the same experience. I thought I'd have ham for Easter but when the time came - really - I didn't want it. I've been offered it at chapel things and such now and I really am not even tempted. As Jared said to me, "You've not had it over a year, you better be sure it's worth it when you taste it." So far, nothing has seemed "worth" it.
DeEtta,
I just did more ordering. LOTS! I had to order most all the books for two levels. The govt will be reimbursing me for most of the books so there was no sense in spending lots of time looking for the lowest price.. I went the simple route and ordered all from TOG.
LOL - I just got an email. Thanks for ordering through the link. I may actually ORDER some of our books this year instead of using the library. LOL
