I Did It!
Twelve hours later....one dead grain mill...one dear friend - with a new grain mill....and I got 8 loaves of Seven Grain Bread baked.
A funny from the day: I had to keep jumping up and running to shuttle children around. The younger three had to run with me. At about 5:30 p.m. Zander looked at me and said, "Can't a boy play a game around here without having to jump up and run all the time?" ::snort::
My goal was to clean out cupboard while bread rose....and I got about 1/2 the cupboards in the kitchen done. UGH. I found quite a few Black Widows.....but those cupboards are clean, clean, clean.
Bre is on the phone. I better pay attention. ::snort::

Oooh, I'm so proud of you! Your bread looks great! Mine didn't rise very well today...but yours sure did. Congratulations!
I add gluten. Do you? When in doubt, I add more. It's quite amazing it turned out because it had to keep rising, being punched down as I ran across town and rising again. That may be the secret. LOL
So the next time I bake bread, I need to do it on one of my busy-drive-all-over-town days?
Wait a minute! You found black widow spiders in your cupboards??? WERE THEY DEAD!?!?!? I'm so glad I live in the frozen north.... ;-)
I sure hope the black widows were dead! ACK! I think I might ask for the bread making tools for Christmas.. the mill, the grinder, etc.. whatever all I need. I have a friend here who makes very yummy bread and has offered to help me get started.
