Goodbyes...
I'm Choosing Joy while feeling a bit blue, wiping tears and inhaling chocolate. Yes, today is the day that BreAnne will leave too. Their flight leaves at 2:57. It's good to get up early and take care of emotions before taking care of leave taking. ::snort::
If you want to read my past thoughts on saying goodbye to family members, you can read this, my thoughts haven't changed much since 2006.
For now - let me share photos from yesterday.
Josiah shows Mike the finer points of texting - sending Krista a text while we work on FAFSA forms.
I looked up to see this when Zander was telling a man at the park, "...then the Police chained me up like this..."
They kept crashing around Stacia...
I suppose it DOES look a bit scary zooming in on you
My favorite kite...
We took BreAnne and David out for dinner. Josiah got off work and joined us at 7 p.m. We spent the night playing cards, Taboo and Mafia. And yes, as reported on Facebook, I RULE as Mafia. I was straight-faced, logical, methodical, evil (Mike's assessment) and devious enough to kill each and every one of my smarty pants sons.
Now, I really must get on with THIS day and meet it face on.
Choosing Joy!

Lots of prayers, chocolate, and cyber hugs. Parting is so difficult. Praying that the afternoon wasn't as hard as it could be and the morning was more fabulous than thought possible. :)
About your Mafia card game... do you use a deck that you bought, or do you play with a standard deck of cards? I've found rules online but I'm having a hard time trying to decide how to play or if we need to buy a card game version. We're hoping to start a monthly game night with our family, so this is on my list to get!
Stefanie,
We use a regular deck of cards. We use the Queen as Doctor; Jack as Sheriff and Ace as Mafia...the other cards are simply "people". Then you need a narrator - we always have plenty of volunteers for that job. We are wondering if we can do this without the older 3 kids and David around.....::sigh::
So glad you and yours had such a wonderful time together. The goodbyes aren't easy; we'll do another one on Sunday.
Ugh...Financial Aid forms!
Ah.... the fine points of texting... I usually text the girls and say "call me" because it's easier than trying to type whatever I want to say (LOL). They keep giving me a bad time saying the point of texting is to NOT call (LOL).
Praying for you, Mel.
Cindy - Mike and I tend to do the same but the kids are often in situations where they don't have time for a call. I don't really like texting too much. LOL
The time of leaving seems to come too soon. LOL, about Mom takes lots of pictures at the airport!
