1st week of school

Whew...a week of school done! Text books are starting to come in...next week will be a bit easier for me to plan - lesson wise. LOGISTICALLY to, come to think of it. ::snort::

Day 2 - Another Day of School at the Weasel's Den...it rained all day and the den was LOUD...the library was closed at Jared couldn't escape. LOL

PE in the fitness room at the TLF - no signs saying they couldn't use the equipment

Day 3 - PARKS....the day was bright and sunny. We headed to a park/playgound in the housing area to study. Jared stayed at the TLF - I knew he wouldn't wake up Mike.

After 4 1/2 weeks in the TLF, I FINALLY figured out how to easily haul groceries up to our floor. LOL

I realized on this day, that I need to be properly prepared with prayer and worship before going to the commissary. It depresses me. Soon we'll live up the road from a wonderful, year round, farmer's market. I ended up paying $7.40 for local milk at the commissary...didn't realize it was that much as it was sold in a smaller container...organic milk may be nearly the same price. ::snort::

Day 4 - Exercise is over. We did school at home and Mike went to work at sane hours.

Day 5 - Mike is off work until Tuesday. Arielle, Nolan and Zander attended a homeschool pottery class. The class was FULL and I'm praying it's the start of making lots of new friends. We headed off to Hachinohe on a field trip with the Misawa Home Educators after the class. We had a blast and were blessed that Mike was able to attend with us.

All in all a good first week of school.

Well - this was LOCAL milk - homogenized but LOCAL so that it didn't have a date 2 months away....but I wouldn't have gotten it if I'd realized how much it was. LOL I saw $1.87 and didn't realize that it was a quart/liter and not a 1/2 gal. LOL

So wish we had a farmer's market near here!!! Hopefully you will have a nice sized freezer in your new house for those winter months' veggies, etc! The amuzement park smiles are soooo precious!

Considering the logistics of it all, I think you had a great first week.

Impressive! I don't think my children could learn in those conditions. We'd be far too distracted!

Praying for your commissary visits...that would concern me as well.

Love the picture of Jared and the little sink. : )

Phew.... don't think we even had local milk in the commissary in Korea or Germany.... we never thought the long lasting refrigerated milk tasted any different.... we did occasionally have to resort to shelf milk and that was yucky....

Slowly, but surely..... I'd say you're doing REALLY WELL all things considered.
