SNOW

Yesterday we had our first snow of the season. It didn't stick...but for this family it was exciting.

Let's not forget the valiant workmen striving to hook up Internet.

They were up the pole again today....maybe that's why we now have 50% connectivity. ::snort:: Praying Mike has energy to spend a few more hours on the computers tonight.

That is CRAZY!!!!! But it's a perfect snow, the one that doesn't stick! What fun for the kids, particularly the youngest who don't remember Alaska well (or in Stacia's case...!).

It was fun. Zander doesn't really remember snow. Stacia was born in TX...they are sure to be amazed as we have LOTS of snow. The base has posts out all over to measure and mark roads above the snow....scary stuff for this tropical gal. LOL

Woohoo, how fun for you. We have not had any official snow here yet, but it sure has been cold enough, just clear weather.

De'Etta, you were commenting about you being on the same line as NYC. We are quite a bit further north and NYC is often 10-20 degrees warmer, sometimes much more....they do not get the snow and cold weather as often or as sustaining as we do.

I'm sure your crew was whooping for joy over the white stuff. It is always a big event when you get your first snow of the season.

Awwww! So glad the kids enjoyed their first snow. How much is the annual snowfall in Misawa?

Our new hometown in north Idaho gets LOTS (as in several feet) more than is the norm in central PA. Our kids are really excited about that.

I'm curious....are there any local thrift stores aside from the one on base? For snow bibs, etc?

I'll have to get the offical amount, Michelle but I hear that it is FEETS of snow....and lots of it accumulates as they don't, as a rule, plow the streets up here.

There are recycle shops and I need to find them.

Sis:

BEAUTIFUL falling snow. Goodness, I miss such events as all winter snow and snowing. :(

Are the flakes really that big? Of course they are if they are in the picture. :):)
