Waiting....Margin...

We like to travel with margin. We were told to arrive to check in at 9 p.m. tonight and got here hours early...seems they changed the time to 11:40 p.m. So....we've explored the airport, ate some free food at the USO (stale doughnuts and a hot dog bun - no hot dogs and cheerios)..... and I've updated the blog.

I'm starting to come up with a Plan B in case we can't all make it on the rotator tonight. We'll send Mike and as many of the older ones who can make it to Japan.....I'll stay here a week if need be with the little ones...and we'll go watch Voyage of the Dawn Treader.....sounds like a good plan, doesn't it? We loved the first movie, were disappointed with the second....

I'd love to hear any thoughts or info any of you have on routes to train for being a midwife or doula....I know the midwife would require more math and science...or I suspect it would.

I must remember to buy some more travel card games for Space A travel. ::snort:: Hope to be home tomorrow a.m.  The 6th in Japan.

It is funny to see"Sunday" at the top of a post, as I write on Saturday.

De'Etta, a friend of my son and daughter-in-law near Orlando, has just published the first issue of a new magazine http://www.babyourself.com . The magazine is for pregnant women and new mothers. Her name is Kristi Corley and she is a doula. I'm sure she can give you any information you need about a doula. Her email is kristi@babyourself.com.

This issue can be read on line. My DIL, Jennifer, is the editor, and my son Patrick had a surprise article about Dads.

Jennifer and Patrick are the parents of six children and are missionaries with New Tribes Missions at the headquarters in Sanford, Florida.

I hope all of you are able to fly together, but sometimes it doesn't work that way.

I loved your previous blog that told of the success of your older children. I know you are so proud of them and you can be proud of yourself for their schooling.

Sorry this is long. Take care.

Praying for a Plan B.... also that you have folks with whom to say while it's being executed... living at the airport would be no fun

I'm hoping to watch "Dawn Treader" as well--I go to very few movies, but this one looks worthwhile. We loved the first one as well, but never saw the second; I heard from others it did not stay as true to the book.
If you train as a direct-entry or lay midwife, it doesn't require a lot of math and science. From my understanding, it's more of an apprenticeship with a practicing midwife. Of course, not all States allow lay midwives to practice. Nurse-midwife is definitely a longer, more academic process--but may be worth while. For doulas, there are certifying organizations; dona.org is one I am familiar with. I would love to do that some day, when I don't have babies of my own (might be awhile...)

The uso seems to have a thing with clarion....two rooms until we fly tomorrow a.m. $65 a night for each room....still saving over $5,000 after paying these hotel nights and buying one way tickets. Ibthink the kids aye all their airplane food, though.
