*Feeding the Healthy Vegetarian Family by Ken Haedrich*

I found this cookbook to be full of great-sounding recipes. I've not tried a lot of them yet....but this book comes highly recommended by several. I've tried the "toasted sweetened pecans" and they were fabulous in a salad. {bg} I've decided to find some tahini and try some new recipes.
I'll keep you posted as I actually try some of these recipes - but it was a good "read". {bg} Does anyone else read cookbooks?

I'm going to see if I can get this from the library. We really need to eat more veggies. I have children who love them but get tired of the way I cook them. I'm also going to start adding an extra veggie to our meals. I think from now on, we'll have salad and a cooked veggie. I'm working on the list today so I guess this is the time to make the change.lol

Lisa - I try to do the same....I have a salad at every meal so the veggie is "covered" and really I think raw is healthiest...but I try to add some roasted or steamed at each meal too....and there is ALWAYS carrot sticks because my younger ones know they have to choose some veggie and most likely it is a carrot stick - raw. LOL

LOL Those carrot sticks sure make the rounds, don't they? My kids are big carrot stick eaters, except for Isaac who is allergic.(His love is celery) I've been known to chide the offending eater especially if I needed them for dinner that night.lol

Based on your recommendation, I found Moosewood at my library. :)

Yes! I enjoy reading & collecting cookbooks...though I rarely make it to the recipe prep stage. lol
Current find from Scholastic fair yesterday I think I'll use.
Rival Crock Pot Slow Cooker Recipes. Crock meals work well for us on migraine days. Anything that requires the least amount of pan washing, I like.
This book even has pics of the 4 main ingredients/recipe so I can quickly raid the pantry to get started or make the grocery list.

I'm praying you have less Migraine days, Darshia.

Ah we are talking about READING the cookbooks - not actually cooking with them. ::snort::

Kristine - don't you love Moosewood? I love the look of the thing....and the spanikapita (spelling) is wonderful....you gotta try it...

I just requested this from the library. I sat Tahini at the store the other day and wondered what it was.

I love to read cookbooks and cooking magazines. I just love to read :)
