Red-Letter Day
Note: I'm reading your comments and they bring a smile to my face...but for understandable reasons I may not have time to respond to each comment. Please continue to pray for Mike. His throat is really sore and he's doing his best to preach tomorrow.
Friday was a big day for us. It was the last day that I will coordinate Produce co-op. I'll still order from Deja. I had struggled with the feeling that it was too early to cut loose the responsibility....mostly because of innocent comments from non-movers such as "you aren't moving until JUNE"....but I know I have to handle this move differently. After many conversations at lunch with children, in family circle.....I am convinced, once again, that I need to cut back early with this move, do all I can to make the move "smoooooth," and have time and FOCUS on the children and on Josiah.....this is going to be a tough move....we were a family with 9 children at home when we moved to TX....we will be a family with 5 children at home when we move.
We watched the clock count down until it was time to take Jared to basketball practice and then the rest of us raced to the airport to meet Bre and David. Mike was able to take a bit of time away from Exodus (day when buses come and all our students are heading home for their vacation....hard to explain but it is busy and lasts well into the night - Mike was home at 11 p.m.) to meet the plane.
The evening was spent trying to get a devotional done, eating, visiting and more visiting. I got up early this a.m. to bake bread and make pancakes.
Our Last Day
Counting mushrooms - guess I'll need a new pre-school curriculum
"the BASKETS" leave our home - local folks wanting their produce basket should check with Doug and Deja.
Zander remembered "those red flowers that smell good" for Bre
Stacia loves the airport though she was a bit confused, "What? Is my Dad coming on the plane?"
Waiting for bags....Nolan, Bre, David
Bre is telling Zander, "I'm not married, if I get married YOU will be there." For those who have asked....Krista is Zander's Love Her (lover) but evidently competition has made him decide Bre is another of his Love Hers. ::snort::
Well, the men haven't made it over from Josiah's apartment....I'll have to call soon so we can make it to Jared's basketball game. Krista arrives in 3 days!

Praying for Mike.
I respect your choice for family first re: co-op. You've had more moves than me, but I remember the stress. Breathable lead time is wise.
I can't believe you'll be leaving TX w/more than half your children growing into their own lives!
So glad Bre and David arrived safe and Krista's arrival will complete the family circle for Christmas! Cherish and cuddle.
We're all home, too -- including T.J. from college and Andy from Korea! PTL!! The honey-do list grew in the last week....isn't that how this thing works? Three more lights burned out and a toilet handle broke off -- just in time for Andy to get home and visit Home Depot (his first trip there in about 7 months....he'll get his "fix" just with the errands this week!).
Enjoy your people -- and have a very Merry Christmas!!
Ummm, can banana man and Jared come and help me my first week of coop? LOL
I am glad they got in okay and I LOOOVE Bre's hair longer. She looks very pretty. I know you are relieved. Now to wait for Krista. I love it that Zander is so in love with his sister but just consider this his H.I.T. (Husband in Training) and I think he is doing well so far :o)
I'm so glad Bre and David made it in safely!
Mike/DeEtta:
Wow! Soon your will have all the kids with you. What a Super Blessing. Cherish every moment. Praying you are all well and not sick. We envy you but PTL you share so much on the Blog so we can still be a faraway part of the fun.
I alway enjoyed you produce days. Work yes, but it was fun dividing the produce and then the fun of visiting with friends. Neat!
