I'm Home

Nine thirty p.m. and I'm finally home to stay for the day!!!!

The day began bright and early when Arielle and I headed to the chapel for MOPS. This was our first week. Arielle is a volunteer for Moppettes. I've never been to a MOPS group and looked forward to finding out more about the program. I was stumped with the first question...are you a Mentor Mom or a Member. Um.....I'm old enough to be a Mentor Mom but I still have a pre-schooler. What DOES that make me? ::snort:: I'll be speaking next month and may pick y'alls brains before this is over. I really enjoyed myself. A lot.

After MOPS we headed home for Bible Study. It cheered me greatly to have Windy and the ladies meet me at the door when I got home. Yep, they beat me. Erika surprised us with homemade soup. YUM. We decided to start at 12:30 from here on out to give a bit more of a buffer for the a.m. school or MOPS etc. It was a sweet time of study, fellowship and prayer.

After study, I did a bit of clean up, ran outside to chat with Windy a bit while the kids played, then back to base for Misawa Officer's Spouse Club. This is the FIRST time in 15 years in the military that I joined the spouse's club...tonight we put up Christmas decorations and that was fun. It was a PJ night and I did worry driving home WHAT I would say if pulled over in a foreign country in my PJ's. It was then that I remembered Mike told me to change at the club. Ah well.

If you haven't guessed by now, the blog is self-publishing this week. That allows the tour to continue when I'm not around. ::snort::

You're a mom right now...doesn't matter that you've got adult children...as long as you've got a preschooler, you're a MOPS mom. You can be a mentor mom when Stacia passes kindergarten year. I miss my MOPS group in KS. They had such a great dynamic. The group here was different; it was harder since I came in halfway through the year...and they disbanded after the season was done. I truly enjoyed MOPS because it gave the chance to mentor to other moms (new, or younger ones), and to mentor as a Christian to those who may not know Christ. And KUDOS to Arielle for volunteering the Moppets segment. I know our Moppets coordinator always had such a job filling spots.

Renee - as you know OSC is once a month. MOPS is also once a month here....so though this week was SILLY CRAZY....long time blog readers will know there always seem to be one week a month like this on Air Force bases...the one week where everything meets for their "once a month" meeting. LOL

Linda - thanks for the clarification. I've wanted to check out MOPS for years, and am excited that this chapel has a MOPS group.

Wow, you seem to be joining everything at this base!

Remember Alaska, when you took on too much!?

I hope you don't mind me reminding you. (And wish someone would remind me regularly too!)

LOL see my note to Renee. Both of the things I mentioned here are things that happen once a month - and things I'm participating in - not things I'm LEADING...big difference. LOL

BUT I'm also NOT doing a lot of things I did in AK and did most of this stuff on top of THAT....In other words I'm NOT a PWOC Pres here, I'm NOT teaching 4 studies a week....and I'm certainly not in leadership in the homeschool group.

This was a VERY busy week - but there are ALWAYS one week that no matter where I move....monthly support group meetings, Mom's Night Outs etc...all seem to hit the same one week a month. LOL

I won't share more here, but seriously, I've made the tough choices and am NOT doing a lot of things I typcially do at this base...so you may be hearing of more of the social things I don't usually do. LOL

Sis: WHEW, you made it thru the week. :):):)

Praying things go very well, know they will due to your/others/our prayers when it comes to your new job in major region leadership. love/prayers -- Mom T.
