Be My Brain

I have just offered up two pairs of new panty hose that were purchased to be sure I had a pair for Jamin's graduation. Someone be sure to remind me before the 23rd that I need to buy some hose....

Also - this is not goodbye yet, my bloggy friends. Oh no. Mike disconnected me but was TEASING me and reconnected it...he's packing up computers (serial numbers on the outside - one for pro gear, one for hold, one for accompanied).

AND even when I am disconnected here.....I've been told if I sit in the laundry room at fam camp I should be able to connect. ::snort::

Seriously, that sort of husbandly joke really should be grounds for marriage counseling....::snort::

Quick Update

  • I'm still connected....
  • Hold baggage is gone.
  • The storage pack out is tomorrow.
  • We're exhausted...but are ALMOST ready for them....except we can't WALK through our home....Poor Mike may be up all night....and his PRO GEAR has now taken over our bedroom....not sure I can find the bed tonight.
  • I finally faced the music and got rid of both the size 6 and the size 18 clothes....I am still searching for a style that lets me look fat rather than pregnant - as I'm not. ::snort::
  • I am taking the best of my maternity clothes...I KNOW most of you said not to...but honestly at 45 it is HARD to find maternity clothes that fit my age....and if I'm to have another baby it will most likely happen in the next 3 years...I don't want my clothes in storage.
  • I'm wondering if I should take my wedding dress to MOM'S house for storage instead of a storage facility, "just in case" any of the girls need it while we are assigned in Japan.... ::snort:: - DO YOU SEE WHAT THIS EXCESSIVE PACKING AND SORTING IS DOING TO ME - IT'S THE DUST I TELL YA! I'VE HAD FAR TO MUCH TIME TO THINK AS I SORT THROUGH EVERY LAST PIECE OF RUBBISH WE OWN. ::SNORT:: In any event I'll have to decide by tomorrow.
  • Jamin came over this a.m. and helped us....
  • Josiah is DONE with his very last final of the year. He also came and helped.
  • I'm desperately trying to get all the things needed for Jamin's graduation corralled and out of the house before any further packing sprees....
  • BTW packers are loud....and business folks are nice to you when they hear packers in the background. ::snort::

Prayer Requests:

  • The kids are doing great but are unsettled....tomorrow they have a play date, pray that this is a great memory in the midst of a hectic time for them.
  • Smooth packing tomorrow....
  • We want to be a GREAT witness for Christ to our packers....they always pick up on the fact that Mike's a chaplain fairly quickly....could be the tower of books with theological titles.

Have I blogged about our LAST packers? I suppose not....maybe tomorrow...I must keep moving tonight. I think I can do ONE more load of laundry before the washer is disconnected.

HORRORS!

Mike made a passing comment...."I need to take the network down too...." do not be alarmed if we suffer an Internet blackout for a few days.

Moving Discoveries

There are certain things that packers cannot pack.....

::snort:: Wow - we had a lot of chocolate hidden in our room.....which tells me two things....our children and friends know what we like AND we've learned discipline as most of these have been in the closet since well before January. ::snort::

Oh.....and this photo doesn't show the Dove Chocolates the kids got me for Mother's Day or the Spokandies mints the girls sent! Now - to get this cache out of here before the Fiengolders in our midst discover the hoarde.

More Freebies

We figured out the beds. We simply aren't going to get 2 sets of bunk beds in a 9x10 room. Zander and Stacia will both sleep on futons...leaving one bunk bed in each room. Therefore, we have the following to giveaway.

Sturdy, wooden bunk bed. You DON'T want the mattresses.

Turkey fryer

3 bookshelves (we are giving some to kids, storing some as books seem to multiply! ::snort::)

We're still going through garage and attic stuff...there may be more. If you are local and want these things, please call or leave a blog comment ASAP. Things will be going to Salvation Army this weekend.

I got a reprieve....

and Jamin didn't move out on Mother's Day.

However, his things are all out of our house as of this moment. He'll be sleeping at Cy's tonight. He's been accepted to ASU and the apartment has approved their application for a 2 bdr.

He just drove off. He made my "LIFE" by saying, "I couldn't have asked for a better family".....this is the "child" who for years wished he'd been born an only child.

I cried. There really is no better time for him to move. We need to make sure his things don't end up in Japan and it only makes sense he would go sleep where his things are....but still it surprised me that it happened today.

I'm a mess....and now it's time to leave and teach our last PWOC Bible study.....packers arrive tomorrow.

Yep, bitter sweet.....wonderful adventure and painful goodbyes....cherish and cling...

update

I cannot express how tired I am. It will get worse and then SUDDENLY it should get better. Like labor, come to think of it. ::snort:: I have photos - but they'll have to wait.

Tonight, I only have time to quickly update:

I made it to the gym. I hope to do that daily - but who knows?

We met with the realtor this a.m. We signed papers and settled on a price for our home. They told us we need to remove the storage room (with floor to ceiling shelves) and the workshop from the garage. Most want a 2 car garage. Hmmmph...that was a selling point for US in the house....but after the tools are packed, we'll be removing shelves and walls in the garage.

I called about getting a dumpster here....we are creating quite a bit of mess with all this "stuff".

I cooked dinner.

Mike and I kept sorting...and it looks like a bomb has gone off in here.

I've begun tagging things "storage" - "Japan"....I figure that should be clear to the various groups of packers.

We gave the man who will get a crew in here to pack us for Japan a tour. He thinks we have 8,000 lbs.

I sorted through a bookshelf of cookbooks and got my cookbooks down to one shelf. We may eat beans and rice for the next 3 years. ::snort::

We are trying to get a second estimate for carpet....we simply don't want to put out over $5K for carpet.

I picked up United co-op. Good GRIEF - what was I thinking???? I'm lucky that I didn' t get near what I expected. LOL

I did a few PWOC admin things....and need to do more...but it will simply have to be "good enough". Some seasons are like this.

Back to sorting and packing.
