Photobucket BITTER - SWEET

Josiah is leaving on Sunday for Boston. He will return and move into an apartment a week later. Today he and I went shopping to find things for his apartment. He'd been telling folks he had a fridge, a futon, a tv, a table (last three items complements of our storage unit); all he needed was a microwave. We learned this wasn't true. He'll have another big shopping trip before he moves out.

Silverware - who cares if they match the spoons need to be BIG

Oh yeah - he needs a vaccum

He spent a couple of hundred dollars...I figure I can pawn offgive him a cast iron skillet, storage containers, pitcher, cookie sheet....but he'll do more shopping next payday.

We ended the excursion as this family marks any momentous occasion (girls leaving, 1st day of school, parents flying to Philippines); we went to DQ.

He's been clearing out his dresser, desk etc. Back at home we discovered that the silly string he threw away exploded in the alley.

Mommy note: Don't you think he's a great sport to allow me to follow him through walmart taking photos? It IS fun to help a child set up an apartment...much nicer that he's moving 1 mile instead of 2000 miles...and yet this means that in a year we'll be saying goodbye to him...and possibly Jamin (Please God give us an assignment Jamin thinks is cool - EUROPE)....I didn't cry at all or embarass myself while shopping....I am tearing up now....but I'm going to go swim before heading in to PWOC Project Night. ::snort::

{{{De'Etta}}} I'm praying for you and your family.

As Kaila continues to collect things for her hope chest, I find myself tearing up at the thought of her moving out.

You and Mike must be incredibly proud of Josiah!

De'Etta - great pictures! I think it's pretty impressive he'll let you take pictures throughout the store AND post them on the blog. :) If only my oldest will be that mature and accepting of Mama Blogging when he's leaving home. LOL!

I don't think we knew those baby and little kid days were really going to move into this strange adulthood land.

You have a lovely family and I hope you are proud of each of your children!

What a sport to let you take all those great pictures!

I'm sure this is all very exciting and sad at the same time.

Prayers for a successful transition.

I can't tell what brand of dishes he was buying, but I highly recommend Corelle. We were given a set for our wedding and they are fantastic. They look brand new still, are durable, in fact, almost unbreakable. Between 12 years, 7 military moves, 3 kids, and a clumsy mom, we have only lost 2 out of 40 and those were recent. They were perfect for two 18 year olds just starting out. Prayers for your 'baby' just starting out and for his mom.

Sis & Josiah:

What fun! Good sport Josiah! Know how you are feeling for sure. The neatest thing though is seeing how well the kids do when they are on their own..... NEAT and a majorily proud time for parents.

Matt & Andrew moved into their own place yesterday. Will hauled their stuff from storage in his barn. Amy got a place again a couple of weeks ago. Moving kids is a sad and neat time when you can help then with their move just someplace hear by.

Wonder where out next move will be?
