Starbucks, Shopping, Creditors & Suitcases

I broke away for Starbucks and shopping with BreAnne this a.m. I discovered I've gained a LOT of weight...not just one size up but two...I nearly had to call the jaws of life or is it death, to get me out of a pair of jeans in the dressing room. Honest. I have a bruised tummy to show where the button was stuck...and now I get why Stacia is fascinated with my size the last couple of weeks. She keeps saying, "I have a little fat, but YOU have a lota fat". She loves it. I don't. ::snort::

Mike, Krista and Heather drove to a nearby town and picked up their futon - another free find.

I spent the rest of the day TRYING to get creditors to accept our new APO address....Grrr....I DID load photos and blog while on hold.

Krista and Bre got "Seattle" and "Tokyo" bags packed for us. Two each - boy and girl. LOL

Note the Almond Roca - apology gifts for our Japanese neighbors...struck gold out shopping today.

Josiah and Jamin took the younger set to the park, because Stacia found it VERY traumatic for her things to go into a suitcase and was NOT settling down.

Will and Sherri and Nate and Heather came over for dinner and visiting tonight.

Mike and I went for a walk. I came very close to losing my "gracious move" status today.....but I'm o.k. now.

I took time to photograph the daisies.....with the silly camera...but this is my own version of taking time to smell the roses.

I have lists (and will add your suggestions to the list in the a.m.). BreAnne, Krista, Mom, Sherri, Heather and I are meeting for breakfast at 7:30 tomorrow....and then we'll tackle the lists.....

Ah... it's so hard to travel and stay on track with eating and exercising. I know how incredibly frustrating that is....

I find it amazing, all that you all have accomplished on this trip! I'm praying for you all.

Do you have enough chocolate? Maybe more Sundrops? Natural sugar?

I know from my parents, that candy is not the same there.

Wow, but you've covered a lot of ground the last few weeks! Not sure if your Verizon emails are working, so thought I'd reach you this way.

Rick's looking for details on your arrival time so that we can arrange transport. Your best guess is fine, if you don't have tickets yet--just call us from Tokyo with the actual time. We figure we should bring 3-4 vehicles to have seatbelts for everyone and room for 14 (?) bags.

Also, we wanted to supply your room with some basic food items. What does your family like? Any particular items that would be most helpful? Any avoids/allergies?

Your friends are right about the organic foods. The commissary carries some, but it's limited. Had to chuckle at your list--I just received a box from my mom with agave, real salt, herbamare, etc.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

I think you are doing GREAT, DeEtta!

Windy is trying to follow along with your blog, BTW, but it shuts down on her computer after the first few seconds! I went to visit her the other day and their house is literally EMPTY! They all seem to love it like that though.{g}

Nearly there!

Thanks, Dorothy. Yes, it is a nice feeling to "pare down". LOL

When I found we were now 3,000 lbs UNDER our weight limit my first thought was "we could have kept...." but then I realized it's NICE to be UNDER. LOL

Oh, what I meant, D, was that all their stuff has gone. (I think they were over their limit?)

But the house they're in is EMPTY.{g} They are literally sleeping on airbeds, they have a table and chairs borrowed from base and that's it. No other furniture and NO STUFF. They live like that for another 6 weeks! But W and the kids seem to enjoy the adventure!!!! The kids have made a room out of cardboard boxes. It so cool.

It would drive me bonkers, I think, to be without a sofa at least, for that long! {g} But she has such a great attitude! I'm going to miss her so much.

I guess the good thing about you being under the weight limit is that you can buy some cool japanese stuff while you are there and still be able to bring it back with you!

LOL - Got it Dorothy. We live like that too every few years. ::snort::

We have many adventures.....
