Hachinohe Botanical Gardens & Children's Land

It's 3:44 a.m. and I'm barely coherent...I thought I'd cheat and find a website for you to read all about the gardens....Misawa Life has some info. I decided to go with this as you can read the directions and see that I'm NOT exaggerating about the fact that there are no STREET SIGNS down here. LOL

After the pottery class we followed another family out to the Hachinohe Botanical Gardens and Children's Land....it was well worth the drive. From our home, it will be about 25 - 30 min, I think. I plan to make this a trip we take again. The entrance is FREE. There are acres of gardens (which we ran out of time to really explore), amusement park type rides, go carts, monkeys and static displays. All, except the rides, are free. This was a field trip with Misawa Home Educators.

I couldn't resist. ::snort:: Jared continues to adjust.... (honestly, they are so considerate here...these sinks are for children)

We enjoyed the view of the park/city from the ferris wheel

Arielle is a sport and took Stacia on the dolphin ride so that I didn't have to!

This stone slide is great fun for the KIDS....a bit rough....but a great way to get down to the go-carts. We did check and it IS a slide.

Jared thought I was taking a photo of him and a Kanji sign because he's our Kanji expert...but I took a photo with the alarming statue instead. ::snort::

These are pedal powered...Stacia and I got in the first one and I realized she couldn't reach the pedals. The pedals were cramped for me and were downright torture for Mike and Jared. LOL

Why is Nolan drinking while they hold up the ship? ::snort::

I believe this will be a favorite outing, one which will be easy to repeat.

Emma can hardly breathe...she's laughing so hard at the picture of Jared by the sink and the thought of those two trying to pedal the rides. "The people in Japan must be tiny," she laughed. Oh, and she's always wanted to ride the swing chairs...maybe we can come to Misawa to fulfill her dream ;-) Looks like a really fun family getaway-for-a-day place.

Ah - I think Emma would benefit greatly by a year or semester or month as an exchange student.....don't you?

What fun and so close to you. The poor men are going to feel like giants by the time you leave.

Sis:

Really looks like anytime you feel like a neat getaway there are many choices in the area. FUN! and Educational.

Love the sink, the slide down the stairs, and just everything.

Wonder what all you will find when winter comes..... bet it will be beautiful.

The monkeys makes us homesice for the ones we had in the Philippnes. They are fun and definitely stinkers. :):)

Poor long legs......... at least they have each other and a hope that Nolan will join them before you all leave. TO funny!

The Jared/stone stature pic? I thought it was you and Stacia in matching outfits.

Ho Ho!

That does look like a place to go back to. Is it open in the winter?

It closes in November....sad. We're finding many things close in the winter....I think you hunker down and wait out the snow????

I am feeling better about Jared's salvation after seeing him give a Gig Em sign in several of the photos and none of the obscene gestures.

I'm trying to imagine sliding on STONE! Did anyone wear out their pants? BTW, Emma is not allowed to go to Japan for an exchange. She would never get a FRENCH horn through customs.

You guys are having so much fun. It's going to be hard for you to come back in 3 years.

That looks like a fun filled day! The picture of Jared next to the child's sink is hysterical.
