PWOC-ERS ROCK

Last night was a PWOC project night. This is when we all bring whatever we are working on to the chapel and enjoy some set aside time to work and fellowship.

Several helped ME with MY project last night. What a wonderful gift these three ladies gave me. Peace of mind. I didn't get a photo of Roxanne before she left. We took 11 big magnetic albums and took the photos out. They ripped, they tugged, they copied my writing and put them all in nice little boxes.

Here Christina and Tammy work....

They saved the very last page in the very last album for ME to do....

Check it out!

Where was I while they worked? I put all the photos that were already out of albums into new albums and then I helped transfer photos. I now have 15 FULL little black power sorter boxes and NO magnetic albums at all.

My GOAL was to get them all into albums before I moved. Christina and Tammy convinced me that PCS trips are NOT for finishing projects and that the photos will be safe in these boxes if I TAPE them shut....I've been instructed to find a good book to take on the trip instead of my power sorter and case of albums.

I guess they earned the right to dictate to me. ::snort::

All of my PWOC gals are jewels. They really are. These three gave me an amazing gift of peace....first to make significant progress because I simply did NOT want to haul those albums around one more time.....and second to encourage me to let the goal go for now and relax.

I really love you ladies!

{PWOC = Protestant Women of the Chapel....yes, I know it's a bit of a dated name...but it states who we are and we are NOT a dated group! We're the with it group of ladies with the dated name....HOWEVER we have a cool new website and logo - check it out}.

ARIGATO for the website plug!!

Loved seeing your acid-filled and lignin-filled sticky albums in the trash! Now for some acid-free, lignin-free, photo-safe albums, huh!

Gotta love those PWOCers!! or as the kids say about this amazing ministry, "P-Wock".

WE say P- WOCK too. I was told before that that is NOT common, but I've heard it evrywhere I've gone. ::snort:: In fact I titled this P- WOCKERS first and then changed it. ::grin::

I really need to get to the lesson that teaches "You're welcome" in Japanese. WE can say thanks, thank you very much, thank you very much politely but not you're welcome. LOL

YEA! I'm SO GLAD to hear that. It's the same idea I was trying to give you when I was telling you about my "holding" albums for lack of a better term. The PowerSort boxes will work just as well and will take up a lot less room. And, more importantly, they will be safe which is, from what I recall, your main goal? Remember me telling you on the phone about the boxes sitting around the living room where people could just pull out the photos, reminisce, pick up a pen and journal? Basically, those would be power sort boxes left out for people to look though. Of course, eventually you'll want them in albums, but for now they are safe! YEA! Glad you were able to move past that. I was trying to move you in that direction a month ago, but obviously you still had more time back then and I sure didn't want to try to crush your hope of getting it all done....

Those are some great friends you have!

You think that's dated? In the Anglican church in England, the equivalent is 'The Mother's Union'. Victorians...

Well, Cindy, I do NOT see this as any sort of permanent solution...as my goals were safety and ease of viewing for kids...I do NOT want kids pawing through the boxes of photos so that's not where I am yet. LOL BUT they'll be safe until we get settled....and it will be my first long winter's project. LOL

Oh, Dorothy, thanks for the smile. LOL

DeEtta,
Again, I wasn't suggesting this as a permanent solution, but I also didn't see how in the world you were going to accomplish all you wanted before you left. Glad the gals on the ground with you were able to convince you to do something different for the time being so your photos are out of the albums and SAFE while waiting until you can get them into the new albums at a later date.
