Random Thought

Tai Yaki and Tako Yaki are NOT the same thing. ::snort::

Tai Yaki is a wonderful little pastry filled with custard or bean paste.

Tako Yaki is octopus dumplings.

I've still not found Cia Pao but I have been told two names of what I may be describing....I'll keep trying.

I may have the words above a bit wrong...but I KNOW that they sound close and are NOT close in taste. LOL

You are VERY right! My Mom thought the taco yaki was a sweet and WANTED some! I made her go buy them herself. She did. Only once!

By the way, you stumbled on an important Japanese word: Tacos

If you are talking about a Mexican taco, you say takos. If you are talking about octopus - just say tako.
