GRADUATION PREPARATION

I've been working on announcements. I need to get address labels to print tonight or give up and finish writing them all by hand. LOL

We need to decorate a table for the reception. Ideas anyone? We're pretty average around here. We've not done book "things". I figure I can turn his slide show into a photo album for the table. We have a few little league plaques type things. I could display his Chick Fil A uniform. LOL Hmmm....I could blow up a photo of last summer's mission trip. What else should I do? I do have some of his old tonka trucks...wonder if the littles would be upset if "their" toys end up at the reception????

Ideas?????

De'Etta, what about using one of those folding poster boards (used for science fairs, etc.) to display pictures of neat things--like geocaching, pictures of time spent with family, your son helping out with the littles (like reading to them, holding a younger sibling, etc.) You can find graduation grafitti to sprinkle around the table, have a stack of your son's favorite books/movies. Hey! What about displaying paint ball supplies! Or at least photos!

We're also using one of the science fair type display boards. A collage of all pictures in the center. We will have her transcript mounted on black paper on the right and some other memorabilia things on the left. I'm going to put some sprinkles over the table cloth. We'll set out her baby album and we'll have the laptop sitting on the table set to slideshow mode with DOZENS of pictures flashing by. We purchased one of those memory photo frames where people sign the mat. We will have two of those on the table. A basket for cards. Balloon bouquet. Not sure what else, but that's as far as I've gotten for now.

Thanks Ladies....it's coming together. Michelle...you reminded me of the things we do that we love that make us US. LOL I guess we don't have to be clones of every other homeschool family. ::snort::

I got the board to make a collage. We'll do whatever in the middle, he wants a photo of every home on the left...not sure about the right side yet....he's not sure he wants his transcript on the side. I'm planning to buy one of those digital photo frames and show photos that way....and afterwards we can use it to display some of our photos in the living room - taking the stress off the whole scrapping thing??? ::Snort:: I'm blowing up his senior photo and a family one for the table....and a balloon bouquet....and we'll see what else.

I KNOW I'll set up a RISK board...then if we're bored with the reception we can play! LOL

Thanks for the ideas!

De'Etta, sounds like the table is coming together. :) Where did you find the digital photo frame? That sounds like a great idea! I might *borrow* that idea for my oldest daughter's graduation party next month.

Cynthia, where did you purchase the memory photo frame? I like that idea too.
