What a day! I know something wonderful must have happened but I’ll have to think a bit to remember.

We did school. I made granola….and it turned out crunchier. I left out water and let it cook longer. I’ll have to let it cook just a bit longer next time. I played with ingredients and amounts in my continued search to make “honey bunches of oats”. This time the mixture turned out crunchy and cereal-like instead of sticky. Josiah told me they are good but he’ll have to see what they taste like in milk. Someone must have decided to eat the granola because it was all gone and I had to make more today.

I baked bread again. This time I tried only 3 loaves in the oven. Still rose and flopped. I made 18 hamburger buns for sandwiches and such and they turned out great. I will try this once more and let it rise on TOP of the stove this time and see if THAT makes a difference. If not…it has to be the SAF yeast. I know that all my friends here make bread without it and without gluten or dough enhancers….(Heather, Becky, Adrienne…are you reading??) but I can’t seem to do it. I’ve even tried Adrienne’s recipe and it did the same thing…her recipe is the same as mine anyway except I use a bit more honey and she uses some milk instead of all water.

We picked up the Narnia movie. We had planned a bit movie night but we’ll wait until Mike is home.

Tonight was our last session of Breaking Free.

Nolan lost another front tooth. The speech therapist said we won’t work on “s” or “th” for a few weeks. {G}

Zander continues to be wilder than a March hare. For the first time in over a month it was a real job to get him to bed…but he’s in bed and it’s nearing 11:00 p.m. so I plan to go get some of that elusive solitude I’m searching for.

The car alarm began going off and I heroically charged out there with a set of keys to do battle. :::Snort::: I do think that it woke up the whole neighborhood and probably scared on friendly siphoning man on the “gas-share” plan out of a few months of his life. The funny thing is that I have no idea how to activate the alarm…I only know that sometimes when someone touches the car it begins blaring…but not when it is shot by bb guns. {g}

Oh it’s too late and I need to try to catch some sleep. Renee, thanks for the encouragement. I suspected the time change had something to do with Zander’s down turn….that and Mike leaving…

One more thing to share. Zander discovered today that Stacia is missing an important piece of “equipment”. He told me “I have a penis in my pants but Stacia doesn’t”. Then he ran off to find his three older brothers. He interrupted their schooling with this announcement. Then he was terribly offended when they all laughed.

That’s the sort of day we’ve had.
