Stacia Joy at 7.5 months
I dressed Stacia and planned to go have her work her magic on the mechanics at the body shop. Here she wiggles with Cy.

Finally, they let me down....Hmmm what should I do first?

Showing off the eyelashes and teeth

SNAP! I missed the one where she snapped her eyes! But this one will do!

Hey girls - look what Arielle can do! Yes, she wanted to try and no, she doesn't carry her in the sling because the sling is obviously to big for her.
Friday – YeHAW!!!!

I know for Kelly it’s a sad day…the end of spring break…for US it means Mike will be home. I sure wish we could have shipped some of our hot weather this week up to you in Ohio.

It has felt like we are trudging through mud today. Nothing has gone especially smoothly.

I DID get 8 trays of apples into the dehydrator. I’m trying to use up my case of sad Fujis and they will work GREAT for this. I plan to dry as many as possible before our camping trip.

I also made 5 batches of a yummy banana/oatmeal muffin recipe (thanks for sharing Heather and Adrienne). I made 2 dozen plain, a dozen with chocolate chips in them and 2 dozen with pecans. Yummm….they were good warm with almond butter spread on them. I froze 3 dozen of them….again looking ahead to next week’s breakfasts and camping meals.

We cleaned the house – always have to do that before Dad comes home. It’s especially intimidating knowing that he’s been living where maids pop in and out and keep things spick and span. It’s always a bit less necessary if he’s been deployed or out in the woods somewhere. I can compete with mud and grit fairly easily.

Finally at about 2 p.m. we worked on school – thank GOD we’d not left much for Friday.

At 4 I headed to the body shop. They said the van would be done yesterday - it wasn’t. I needed it before I had to take Josiah to work and pick Mike up at the air port. They weren’t sure it would be done and they are not open on Saturday. I did not want to spend the weekend with 9 of us trying to fit in a Honda Civic….so I decided to dress Stacia in a darling outfit (pictures above) and head for the body shop. It worked. I have the van. It’s nice and shiny – they waxed and vacuumed it too. I was embarrassed as I’d not emptied it from park days when I took it in. Oh well. As we zipped out to pick up the little ones and head to the airport I got “the call”. Mike’s been fighting weather all day and is in Dallas. Their plane will be at LEAST 45 minutes late.

I called Papa Johns (love that online ordering!!! – Thanks for the tip Charly) and told them that I needed the pizza earlier or later. And now I wait….for plane and pizza.

Ah! One mystery may be solved! Yes, Zander has had an awful week. I know we haven’t been eating anything off program. I chalked it up to the changes this week. Well…..once a week we do have home made ice cream and we allow the kids to choose their own add ins. They are good and know that Zander can only have a couple choices so those are the ones that are out and seen. For instance I have organic Oreos that I figure he can have once a week. I make cookie dough and freeze little clumps for them. I make chocolate/peanut butter balls that they can use. The only thing that is still used that he can’t have are the m/ms. I had a HUGE super bowl bag of them that I’d gotten for adding to the ice cream before we realized that we can’t even allow Zander to go off once a week. Mike and Josiah have hid them. Josiah told me this afternoon that when he went to get a handful his hand touched bottom….before it was about ½ way gone. Mike isn’t here to have been eating them. Josiah said this was the first time he did. The others kids all swear they didn’t touch them….that leaves Zander…..maybe. Who really knows? He said he took the M/Ms…but we had an incident last night…..Nolan had brought some M/M’s home from Back Yard Bible Club. I had told him to hide them and he put them on top of his dresser. Zander found them at bed time and wanted them and I took them and removed them from the scene…amidst much weeping and wailing. “Mean, mean Mommy”. I’m really not sure if Zander was confessing to taking Nolan’s M/Ms or the hidden bag that is now nearing empty…..circumstantial evidence is mounting. Every time I begin to question the need to be so strict on this program he falls off the wagon and I realize that if the changes were just placebo effect….well we wouldn’t have the bad reactions when he unknowingly ate the forbidden synthetic additives and petrochemicals. Right? I would guess that this week proves it for me….since I KNEW he was acting like he’d gotten into something but didn’t know what until today. Funny thing is just last night I was upset when reading a book and they mentioned Feingold had been disproved. As I read further I think they meant that Feingold’s idea of avoiding fresh fruits/veggies had been disproved…because the author’s recommended eating looks very similar to Feingold on Stage 2.

I’m really rambling here….hoping Mike is home fairly early tonight….Arielle has started practicing the piano on her own using Bre’s old books. I’m guessing I will find her a piano teacher….school is almost done and I AM feeling like I could add a weekly lesson in…..we’ll see.
