Busting my Buttons

 I'm so proud of our introverted son for pursuing interviews with publishers. It would have been easy to attend the conference and not pursue interviews. LOL

He met with "someone" this a.m. who told him that there isn't much of a market for Christian Fantasy. The man WAS very interested in the new book that Jamin is also pitching.

He met with AMG publishers. THEY say they see a growing market for Christian Fantasy. Their last fantasy writer sold so many books that Zondervan stole him away from them. They are interested in The King of the Reid and want Jamin to send it to them so their fantasy editor can take a gander at it. Jamin had given them a synopsis and the first 3 chapters. They are also interested in hearing more about the new book concept he has.

He meets with a representative from Bethany Publishing House tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. CO time. We'll keep praying for God's will and timing in all of this.
I asked him if he was having fun. I asked him how he was doing and he told me, "Mom, I need to get back to the hotel to work out!" ::snort:: I think he's feeling a bit of stress and a tad bit overwhelmed.

Peanut Butter

 I bought 15 lbs of Maranatha Peanut Butter a couple of weeks ago. The day of reckoning finally arrived and I needed to stir it. I really did most of the stirring....but Arielle did graciously help me.

Stacia's Grand Adventure

 I was told about a new fun play place on base. Stacia, Arielle, and I dropped by today. I thought I might need Arielle's help with Stacia.

Why did I need Arielle's help?

It's the Base's Family Fitness Room. I've never seen this at other bases and find it ironic that they have one HERE at a student base. To use this room you must have a child 6 months - 5 years of age. The kids area is bright and fun. There is no TV - so I can't get my news fix, but other than that, I have no complaints. They have the NEW machines in this room. It's not full of buff students or spandex babes. I dont' feel guilty leaving everyone to watch Stacia.

I enjoyed being back on the machines. I did 40 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the bike (reading a book I want to finish).

I had to cut my workout short, however, when Stacia got into a tiff with a 4 YO. He hit her with a toy. She cried, his mother yelled, no remorse from the 4 YO boy. All settled down. Three minutes later (remember I was working out and so had my eye on the clock) Stacia decked him. She was scolded, told him she was sorry, and then told him she'd be back as we left. She's 2 1/2.

As we left Stacia said, "Mom, Let's come back AGAIN!" I wish we lived close enough to do it daily....I've used the gyms a lot since we went military, but the drive here is 20 minutes one way. I made use of the gas by going to the commissary and recycling too. LOL

Jared's Highlights

 Jared has found armadillos, rattlers, strange looking fish...all while running. Today he found a big black, boar with tusk. He ran home for my camera. It was dead. I'm not going to post the photos...but we're all wondering HOW it got here. I didn't know they ran wild this near residential areas. Josiah and I think a hunter is using that field for a dumping spot. I don't know.

Jared is a guest writer on Jamin's blog tonight. He posted a short story. It's a C.S. Lewis type story. I may have another budding author in the house. He's also been writing a book.

Jamin Update

 Jamin is meeting with 3 publishers today. He meets with the first one at 9:15 Colorado time.

Please do pray that he feels good about the interviews, that he hears the advice they give and that he gleans some insight into the next step he needs to take.

Yes, he met Suzanne Eller (his mentor for the past 1 1/2 years) last night.
Mike is having a blast. He sounds relaxed and was laughing etc. He said that it's fun to watch Jamin. At this moment Jamin is caught in a vice - stuck between excitement and nervousness!
