COMPUTER FIX

For those wondering how to post with photos and such....

Go to "create" when it doesn't work - click refresh and a screen popped up with the tool bar and the photo upload icon....now to try to load a photos.

But maybe you have to switch to German and then French first for this to work. LOL
Is french any better? At least I can figure out what publier means...or moderer les commentaires....

I may leave it this way - the ultimate immesion experience. ::snort::
YIKES - my blog is in German.....I'm working to fix it. Harder than it appears because all the commands are in German. I'm so talented. ::snort::

A Chapel Funny

Just remembered this as I typed up the recipe. Everyone got a kick out of the recipe being from one of my murder mysteries.

I arrived earlier than Ivey this a.m. I leaned my seat back and fell asleep. She showed up and saw the van parked in front of the fellowship hall, motor running and me slumped over. She thought "Oh NO"...you can imagine what she thought.

I told her I always knew I'd go out at the doors of the chapel. ::snort::

CRUSTLESS JARLSBERG QUICHE - Makes 2 10 inch quiches (2 deep dish 9 inch)

*From Dying For Chocolate* by Diane Mott Davidson - this was great. This is a mystery book - not a cookbook. LOL I'll put my changes in (*).

1/2 C (1 stick) unslated butter
1/2 cup flour (I used whole wheat)
1 1/2 C milk (I used cream LOL)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt (I used 1 1/2 and pepper)
2 1/2 C small curd cottage cheese (Ricotta)
1 tsp dijon style mustard
9 eggs (oops - read wrong and put in 12 still good)
11 ounces softened cream cheese
3/4 lb Jarlsberg cheese, grated (4 Cups)
1/3 C freshly grated Parmesan Cheese (6 a.m. used 2/3 C LOL)

(1/4 C onions)
(mushrooms)

I reached for a bunch of spices and then made myself leave it alone. LOL It was good.

Preheat oven to 350*. Melt butter, (added onions), add flour and stir just until mixture bubbles. Slowly add milk, stirring constanlty until sauce thickens. Set aside.

Stir baking powder, mustard, salt (and pepper) into cottage cheese (ricotta).

Beat eggs well, beat in softened cream cheese and cottage cheese mixture. Slowly beat in cream sauce, incorporate Jarlsberg and Parmesan.

Pour into 2-10 inch (used 2 deep 9 in) pie plates. Bake for 45 min or until puffed and borwned.

Cut into 8 large wedges; serves 16. I got more servings out of this...
My MEN -

*bummer I can't post pictures yet....I may join Jen at Wordpress yet....oh yeah...I couldn't get that to work either. ::snort::

Anyway - I have the best men in my life. First the grain mill. Mike understands that this is a daily tool used in our kitchen. He told me to go ahead and get another one.....BUT Josiah FIXED IT!!!! After talking with Becky we decided if Ian could fix theirs there must be a way to fix it at home. LOL The company that warranties Wonder Mill (used to be Whisper Mill) would fix it but it would be $50 to LOOK AT IT. Josiah took the bottom apart and shook out grain. It stopped mid-grind so there was flour and grain packed in it. He got out Mike's air compressor and blew stuff out from everywhere...he was covered in flour when he came in. Mike, he looked like a big version of Jamin's 4 yo escapade. ::snort:: It works...nice, strong, grinding noises again.

My plan this a.m. was to come home after serving breakfast. This was a joint Catholic/Protestant event. The Protestants had a TERRIBLE turn out....one chaplain, the NCOIC and his family, Ivey and myself. I called home and things were quiet. I told Jamin I'd carry the cell phone and that as long as things were fine at home, I'd stay and help clean and decorate the chapel. He said, "Are you up to this?" I told him I was. He asked, "Do you promise to take a nap when you get home?" - Yeah - good idea. He insisted when I got home and then I found out that Mike had called from OVERSEAS to tell the boys to make sure I got a nap today.

I am very "high energy", yet, as I age I find that if I don't sleep for days on end I DO get migraines. Strange as it may seem, my hip, wrists, and shoulders begin to ache again when I go a long time on low sleep. I was ready for a nap. It was a great nap. I woke up when I heard Zander telling Jamin, "Jamin, Jesus says you are spose to treat people kindly." I guess that ONE family way stuck in his mind. ::snort::

There are more toys at the chapel. I told them all to put them in Mike's office and I'd pick them up once a week to mail. BTW, there should be *five* numbers in the zip code if you are mailing to Mike....only one *nine*. If you have more questions about that email or call me. I can't post addresses online. It appears that some got a wrong zip - though Liz could google and figure out the right one. Liz is down right scarey!!

Those are the highlights of my day....I'll post pictures when I can....has anyone figured this out or complained somewhere???? The outage thing is over....the tool bar is still gone.
UPDATE

Stacia has been up since 2 a.m - it's 5 a.m. now. I have to be up and cooking by 6 a.m. I'm exhausted.

Zander woke up at 4 a.m and crawled into bed. Stacia was "pinging" so he told her "STACIA - you are so silly!" and kicked her and I out of my bed....

Checked on Arielle and she says her ear is "better". Becky told me how to make garlic oil, but now I can't remember if this is topical or supposed to go in the ear or WHAT. I went to webmd and printed off info on congestion and ear pain so I shoud be good to survive the day.

I had hoped we'd go to Christmas at the Fort sometime this weekend...but with the cold snap....2 children recovering and still with mild cold symptoms, 1 with ear ache and a young one with severe congestion.....we'll miss it again this year. The cool thing is that we'll be able to see it for the first time next year with Mike.

I'm guessing I'll go do breakfast at the chapel and be home the rest of the weekend with the children. Josiah can drive and will take the ones that are well to Sunday School so they can continue to practice for the play. Our RE is made up right now of 3 or 4 families....and so our children are really missed when they aren't there. ::snort::

Zander's having a coughing fit...Stacia is asleep...think I'll try for an hour of sleep before baking quiches. LOL

DOUBLE DIDGIT DAY - Mike informs me that we are now 99 days left of this seperation. I think it may be longer with travel time...but 99 is better than 180.
