Shopping

WARNING - this post is for the girls and my mom....and it may be a bit much for some readers....especially male readers...why don't you move on? You've been warned and it's YOUR fault if you are offended by reading further. ::snort::

I haven't bought new bras since Nolan was born.

My girls tease me quite a bit of totally mortifying them when they were young and needed to buy bras. In my defense I lived in countries where dressing rooms weren't always options...How do you figure out if something is the right size when there are no dressing rooms? You hold it up to yourself or try it on over your clothes.

The girls begged me a couple of years ago NOT to subject future daughters to such embarrassment....and I've remembered. ::snort::

Today seemed like a good day to go pick up a couple of new undergarments (is that a more discreet word?). I had Stacia and Zander with me but surely they wouldn't be embarrassed (they weren't).

Question - WHY are all the really big bras padded? Do you really NEED padding if you are a DD or E or F? Why are the small ones padded for that matter - does anyone make a simple cotton undergarment these days?

I had commented (without thinking of little ears) that I'd like to find something pretty.

As I shopped....I heard a familiar voice loudly singing, "pretty, pretty, pretty, mommy needs a pretty!" I turned around. What I saw made me laugh until I cried.

I took a photo of Zander too but decided to delete it...his brothers would have far too much fun tormenting him in about 4 years with the photo. All I can say, in his defense, is the green padded DD's DID look like WWI Army Helmets. It was priceless. Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the photo. I'll never be able to re-stage it.

I will have to continue the search - maybe at the mall....

Dental Visits

We did a bit of school and rushed to Dr. Sawyer. This was the first WORK Stacia has had to have done. They ended up not filling the tooth - just sealing it.

Photobucket

I did NOT have to pay for gas as she did NOT understand the command to breathe through her nose...and she did NOT like them shooting water and air into her mouth, putting a tent in her mouth, or drilling. In fact, I had to help the tech hold her down.

Zander has had two crowns. He has done fine. Last time he was really bugged by the flouride and for two days repeatedly rinsed and was even banging his head again. During the whole thing he made "wounded sounds". He did that again today. It is a bit embarassing but they are great with him. They (and we) were a bit worried about how he'd do with sealants...and he DID try to get them out....

I distracted him by taking him to McDonalds....his "favorite place in the world" and a place we don't usually visit. I did enjoy the Southwest Salad with lime instead of dressing and think I need to go buy some limes for salads here at home. LOL

Timeline of a PCS

The next medical review board is 14 April.

Sometime after that we should have written orders. Since I've already gone and collected any record they could possibly ask for, I expect this will go quickly.

Then we can schedule packers, contact housing at Misawa, and such.

Mike is in charge of a Holocaust Remembrance on base in April. He projects we'll be packing out of our home the last week in April as he can't concentrate on being a good host and scheduler while also concentrating on all that goes on when packers show up.

THEN we can get painters into the home...and lay new carpet. It will be a miracle if the house sells before we leave TX...but God could do it. If God chooses not to do it, we plan to give Josiah the Power of Attorney to either sell it or rent it. (Cheap college money, son? ::snort::)

We HAVE been given permission to fly out of Seattle - which sure beats flying out of LA or Dallas. We love the Air Force and our local team are really an amazing group of people. They do the best they can for families.

We plan to leave TX 1 June. We plan to drop Beatrix off at her new home, spend a week with Mike's parents, a week with my parents and drop Krista and Jamin at college, somewhere catch Bre (I think Mike's itinerary overlooked Spokane!!!), drive to Seattle and fly to Anchorage on 21 June. THEN fly back to Seattle and leave the country on 4 or 5 July. Why Anchorage? Well, we WOULD like to continue receiving our PFD $ if we can.... but we also feel the need to have some time to relax after many emotional goodbyes and regroup before flying to Japan.

Cy is considering taking a few days off and meeting us in Seattle to say goodbye..oops tearing up...not going to think about this anymore today. ::sniff::

Nolan with Miss Kristin
Photobucket

9:15 a.m. found me at Lamar Elementary meeting with 3 ladies about Nolan's Speech. Some of you will remember that we thought last year that he was released from speech. At the testing to be released they decided not to release him. They also told me he was "below standard" in vocabulary. Today she released him. She also said they had retested his vocabulary skills. I TOLD them that he didn't know what a "record" was....but he knew what a GPS or Weather Station was. She said normal range on the test is 85 - 115. Last year he was 83. This year he was 110. I told her that I was fairly certain it was the fact that last year he didn't know any of them and it was a new setting....now he's received speech at the school for a year and knew those giving the test. They tend to think it has more to do with intensive vocab work I did with him this year...um...we didn't. ::snort::

Seven years of speech - over. Just like that. Nolan didn't even go to speech today. We went and bought roses and took them back to Miss Kristin during his time so that he would have a chance to say goodbye. She cried. I cried. Nolan didn't. ::snort::

We celebrate everything in our family. Nolan is considering what he wants for his real speech dismissal celebration. We had a celebration last year...but now that it's really final....

Mike came home and got the newly signed form whatever to turn in to the Air Force. It now says "is not receiving services".

Sunday Recap

Last Sunday, when I was looking for winter wear at Penney's we happened on a sale of Girls' dresses at 50% off. I bought Stacia two. I have two girls who LOVE dressing up, and two who don't. ::snort:: Stacia has been waiting all week to be allowed to wear this dress.

Photobucket

Note the shoes (I have blue crocs to match). While she loves to dress up she hates shoes (I sympathize).

Won't someone make her stop taking photos?

Photobucket

After chapel, Mike stayed on base to work. The boys took this to Cy's. The rest of did things. I spent most the afternoon on the phone with PWOC ladies. We met back here at about 8:45 for dessert.

Photobucket

How did I break the camera? I was playing with "things" on it and taking photos of these (which either Mike or Zander bought me - depends on who you ask LOL). I had loaded the photos to the computer....and began to edit this one.....The phone rang. I came back and decided I should move the computer to a safer spot and proceeded to do so...forgetting the Nikon D 70 was still attached to the laptop.....

Photobucket

We now have camera dilemmas, but I'll make that a separate post so I can quickly find comments you all may leave. ::snort::

NOW I'm caught up.....I can rest knowing that family know what we did the past few days. But today....ah today!

Saturday Recap

I was looking forward to a relaxing day after the pace of Inspection prep the past month. We had chapel clean up. HOWEVER, when we got there (about 45 min after start time) they were done. ::snort::

Mike and I went out for lunch.

We had a family meeting and came up with lists....

We worked. Trimmed trees, hauled lumber to friends, picked up moving boxes...

Photobucket

I got February's photos edited and uploaded to Shutterfly for The Moms. (Hey Mom, they've shipped). I also began work on March's photos.

Mike bought a player to transfer videos to DVD's.

Mike and the kids went to a local nursery and ordered pallets of sod. I believe we are going to sod the back and seed the front? I'm not sure.

Arielle and I got 16 more pages of photos safely secured.

We had dinner out in the yard and played. (This is the camera settings I've been playing with...before I dropped the camera....).

This is a game of Dodge Ball that they play on the trampoline. You jump, others throw balls and various things at you.....Jared caught it and began to perform.

A Boy's Prayers

A friend and I walked out of the Fellowship Hall yesterday and found Zander praying.

"Almighty God, Please help me with my troubles and problems. Please help the shot not to sting for very long. Please help my mom...even though she makes me mad, I still love her. Amen."

Needed to get it into our family story. He is mad at me because I continue to make him go to dentists, doctors and immunizations clinics.
