4th of July - 2014

Today made the late night of driving worth the effort. ::grin:: We began the 4th with a quick breakfast at the trailer....moved over to Mom Mary's and enjoyed a picnic at her house.

Michael took the boys swimming down the rapids. This was their first trip. Stacia wisely waited at the end of the trip.

A neighbor loaned us a few kayaks.

BreZaak and Dakota arrived. It was great to have them meet us here. Michael had gone down the rapids again so we waited and waited for him to show up.

That awful moment when Michael explains to Dakota you must spit into your mask before putting it on.
Really Pepaw?

Stacia has kept us filled with freshly picked blackberries!

The weather on the river was gorgeous! Unbelievably nice. We love the Smith River. Dakota had never seen the redwoods so we headed down to Stout Grove in Jedediah State Park next.....a walk from Mom Mary's.

Stacia was fascinated with all the initials carved in fallen trees.

Zander cut his hair and is now the spitting image of Jamin at this age.

Yuuki is NOT supposed to be climbing stairs and such....but look where we keep finding her.

Or wrapped around Mom Mary.....

BreZaak brought dinner with them from OR.  We enjoyed sitting around the "fire" after dinner.

The best part of this weekend is we don't have to be home until Monday night. Izaak checked and says the weather is supposed to be good through Monday.

Camp Site

I went to work with Michael this a.m. He worked on tying things up for the week. I ran to the lab and radiology and then back home.

The kids and I packed, packed the trailer and then I did a bit of PWOC "stuff," answered a few emails and made a sign up sheet for a Parish Town Hall/BBQ.

I ran back to base, hugged a friend who has been gallivanting in AK and picked Michael up.
Setting up camp at midnight
We hit the road.

We arrived here at 11:45 p.m.  It's now 1:16 a.m.  and we are set up.

Tomorrow Brezaak and Dakota will arrive and we'll go visit Mom Mary.

We still miss Arielle - off getting grown up practice

Hmmm....if we'd remembered to grab the lawn chairs from around the fire pit at home, this would make a nice spot to sit and visit while we grill. ::snort::

It's been a long day!
