WELLLLLLL - I was going to post some pictures but the total tool bar for creating posts is mixed up. The button to click to upload photos is gone....I'll hope this is a short blogger glitch.
FRIDAY -

Hmmm...what happened to all the editing tools? The font size, bold....oh well....

1. Speech went well. Nolan had to make up a story and made up a story that sounded suspicially like Peter Pan. The family was even "the Darlings" and his therapist BOUGHT IT. He told me he couldn't believe she didn't know it was Peter Pan. ::snort::

2. Produce co-op was today. To tired to say more...and it's probably all be said in previous weeks. LOL

3. Always fun to have folks drop in to get their produce.

4. Lunch - decide on quiche for tomorrow. I'll make Crustless Jarsberg Quiche from Diane Mott Davidson's *Dying for Chocolate*.

5. Drove to Heather's - library - grocery store.

6. Home to organize spices - bigger job than you may think.

7. Becky called - yay - always fun to talk with old friends. OH - KRISTINE - I got your message and will do my best to call tomorrow....today's been a zoo.

8. Ivey called and said I don't have to be at the chapel until 8 tomorrow to fix breakfast.

9. Dinner.

10. Arielle begins crying - terrible ear ache. Heat, drops, tylenol...waiting for docs to open tomorrow???

11. Decide we'll miss the base Christmas Tree lighting since all the youngers are still congested and Arielle is in pain.

12. Stacia congested but falls to sleep.

13. Family watches *Jingle all the Way* from Netflix and I make 4 doz muffins for the a.m.

14. Krista calls....always a joy. What a blessing that they still respect us and want our opinion. Hey MIKE - I told her I'd talk to you before giving her an answer so remind me to talk to you...hopefully before Monday. DUH - I'll email. I sure miss Outlook! LOL

15. Arielle wakes up crying again - more tylenol, decongestant and ear drops.
PARENTING/DISCIPLINE IN PROVERBS - CH 25

25:11 "Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances."

~Father, give me the right words to say and the discernment to know WHEN to speak those words.

25:23 "The north wind brings forth rain and a backbiting tongue an angry countenance."

~Control a backbiting tongue or reap angry folks around you.

25:24 "It is better to live in a corner of the roof, than in a house shared with a contentious woman."

~Note - Children don't deserve a contentious mom any more than a husband deserves a contentious wife.

~Young women can be contentious - usually at least once a w month - we can share this struggle with our daughters...confessing our sins and helping them to learn this lesson while a young woman at home.

25:28 "Like a city that is broken into and without walls, is a man who has no control over his spirit."

~CONTROL

~Lack of self-control leads to alack of protection in my life
*The Ultimate Lap Book by Tammy Duby and Cyndy Regeling*

My friend, Carleen, in AK recommended this book to me. She kept telling me about lap books and I told her I'd ordered the Dinah Zike book. She KNEW Tammy Duby from living in MD and had never heard of the Zike books (though she is quoted quite often in this book). We were talking with the coordinator of our charter school one day and Carleen said, "Order that book for De'Etta". ::snort:: She told me I would love it - and she was right. I simply had to move and find the time to begin enjoying relaxed homeschooling once again...you know as opposed to "homeschooling under the gun". ::snort::

From amazon.com "A wonderful guide for introducing your child to the exciting world of book-making. Not only does it tap into your child's creativity, but helps him own the information in the book, preserve his artistry, practice writing skills, and turn words into friends. "

This book talks about folds, talks about how to make various types of books...folder books, stick books, accordion books, hard cover books...and then gives blueprints from several projects the author's children have completed.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. It has given me the confidence to try a few of these ideas on my own - rather than spending my time searching for the perfect lap book guide....though I do a bit of that too. LOL

Oh - and I'm slow but Tammy Duby is "Tobin's mom" of Tobins Lab. I see on other sites that she's "patented" the term lap book.

Now, I really must get moving to go to speech and pick up produce...more later...on this cold, wintery TX day....::snort::

*Cherry Cheesecake Murder by Joanne Fluke*

I love the Hannah Swenson mystery series.....maybe it's the scrumptious cookie recipes I love most. ::snort::

I've already checked and "Key Lime Murder" is due out in March 2007. Do you think Hannah will ever choose between Mike and Norman? Who are you rooting for? I, for one, am pulling for Mike. ::snort::

This is another fun adventure with Hannah in Lake Eden. Great characters. I think this series and the Penn Dutch series are my favorite...with Goldy Catering and Death On Demand as close seconds....and Daheim's Bed and Breakfast coming in 3rd. LOL

PARENTING/DISCIPLINE IN PROVERBS - CH. 24

24:3 - 4 "By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches."

~What fills the rooms of my house?

~Lord, give me wisdom, understanding and knowledge in ever increasing amounts....it all comes from you. I sure need a dose of all right now.

24:16 "For a righteous man falls 7 times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity."

~....going down for the 6th time....anyone else been there? ::snort::

~It's in the tough times that our faith is proven (James)

~It is precious to know that in parenting/life God assists me in RISING when I fall

24:23 "These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in judgment is not good."

~Any favoritism among my children is bad

~God reveal any areas in my parenting/life where I'm exhibiting partiality in judgment (James).
You have got to be JOKING!!! There is no way I am riding my bike when it is 20* and windy outside..... I think I'll look into a chocolate diet. . . or maybe Gold's Gym or Curves or the YMCA....
