Whirlwind Preaching Engagement - Michael

This past Sunday, my chaplain assistant and I went to Camp Souter for a preaching engagement. I had invited the British chaplain over a few weeks back, and it was my turn to preach over there.  The city was quiet so there were no issues with safety.  The setting is rather barren, though.  Padre M is out of the Church of Scotland.  These visits are always fun.  Usually, they have BBQ on Sunday, but not this time.  They did have some dynamite casaba mellon, though.  We arrived with a little bit of time to chat and have tea.  Went to the D-Fac to eat then headed to the chapel - very sparse.  The service was only 30 minutes long.  I had more than half of it with the message.  Immediately after the service, and I mean "amen" put on IBA and run to catch the shuttle kind of immediate, we were on our way back to "home."  It is always nice to go somewhere for even a couple of hours, but to go somewhere and get to preach?  Well, that really is about as good as it gets over here.

Chapel Improvements - Michael

The inside of the chapel has steadily improved over the months.  People have donated curtains, pictures, rugs and a carpet runner.  It has been nice to see things get better.  We were working toward some sort of a sash to cover the big speakers that are way up front, but we could not get the cooperation of the engineering folks to put up the hangers, and we were dealing with a tailor who was coming up with a rather outrageous price for the work.  So, it appears this part of the project is not going to happen.  Oh well...

The drum set is new, and our musicians are loving it.  It, apparently, is a rather good set of drums.  They are saying it is professional quality.  The way they beat on them, I hope the quality is up to the challenge and the stress.
This is the view from the platform looking toward the back of the sanctuary.  The door at the very back leads to the pavillion area.

Blessings
Michael

Thirty Four

34 VHS movies (Thanks for the suggestion, Michael). We've owned some of them for over 20 years....I've spent a lot of years watching Jungle Book, Cinderella and Veggie Tales.

I think I liked the 34 m/ms  photo better a week ago. That reminds me I need to go add some m/m's to the Daddy Candy jar. LOL

Contentment

In our family, "We are content with what we have, not coveting what others have."

This was a great family circle....easy example the kids could understand. Contentment and Coveting.....we are satisfied with where we are and not envious, but rejoicing with our friends whose husbands returned this weekend.

Our turn will come. Which reminds me....

Bible Study Kick Off

Tonight was the kick off of our Monday Night study on Covenant. Wow. We had sort of thought (or at least I had) that we'd have about 4 or 5....but there are 14 signed up.

Tomorrow is Tuesday a.m. Bible Study kick off. I'll be teaching Covenant on Tuesday a.m. too. I'm really excited to be teaching an Inductive study again after  5 years!

And....just so you know....Inductive does NOT have to be boring. I've been told our Bible Studies are NOT boring. LOL

Arielle saw the ortho today. She and I then went to the gym. She and Jared had Human video and Youth tonight. I dropped the younger three off at Mary's a friend who had 2 youth that I took to base for video and youth. LOL

Jared is still experiencing a 5 - 6 pain level if he puts any weight on his foot.....and his ankle is still swollen....we see the doc again on Wed.  I've been told to push for an MRI if they still see an "anomaly."
