UP TO THE MINUTE NEWS!

I was busily uploading pictures to the blog when Mike called me.
Jamin had gone out for a bike ride. YIKES. He was doing something that men do with bikes…not sure I quite understand what but it involves pumping fast, jumping and wind….and his front wheel fell off. He’s hurting for sure. I was helping….but he’s covered with wounds and so Dad and he are inspecting…..

I am going to have to rethink this bike challenge Mike has me on. I wonder if he took out extra insurance on me....I won't go nearly as fast on the roller coaster hill again....OUCH. Mike told Jamin, "Mom is just so sedate on her bike"....I guess if being rowdy means loosing a few pints of blood; sedate is good! YUCK.
FRIENDS

My Friend from a past assignment came up (or over or whatever it is). Brenda’s daughter, Sally, had a shoot with the local 4H shooting club. We enjoyed visiting and watching a bit of the shoot out at the range. It was a great day for it. We’re talking about a “girls weekend” in Fredericksburg when the girls get home from WA. I think that would be sort of ½ way between our homes. Mike is trying to come up with something cool for a boys weekend…their last one was snowmobiling across a frozen lake, staying in a freezing cabin and ice fishing….

Brenda is a nurse and told me my burn from spaghetti sauce was infected so now I sport another big band aide…I’m starting to feel like a little kid with all my owies. :::snort::::

Brenda and I – I’m the TALL blonde (don’t get to say I’m the tall one often and I must tease Brenda from time to time – I’m 5’4” on a good day).

Stacia has a well developed case of stranger danger…but she didn’t go hysterical when Brenda held her.

Go Sally!!!

Power misting….They had these misting stations set up….at first I said it reminded me of a day in Oregon…it became more like a tsunami and we moved.
Look closely and you can see a little bird. I’ll try for a better picture.

We noticed a nest in the corner of the alcove where our garbage cans are stored before we left for vacation. When we got back there were two little eggs in the nest.

Now there is a mama bird and two little birds. We are split on what kind of birds they are. Everyone thinks dove but the big bird doesn’t look like a dove to me. We’ll see. She takes good care of them. She hunkered down and protected them in the midst of a few “severe thunderstorms” this week…..that will preach. I’ll snap some more pictures if she is ever far away….
Stacia loves meal times….

But she’s decided she likes the bowl better than the carrots. {G}

THIS is my new summer look. This is what it looks like after a shower. This picture is for those who think I tend to exaggerate. {G} I literally cannnot get the comb through it until I lather up with an oil treatment I bought at HEB. When I comb it chunks of synthetic looking hair come out. The frizzy kind of hair that old Barbie dolls have...

Adrienne tells me that it will most likely turn green this summer at the pool. OH JOY! Why do I keep going back to this lady. I like her. She is struggling and needs my business. I don't mind a variety of colors or cuts but this is really bad.

If any local folks want to share the name of a hair dresser, I'm really not sure I'll go back to her...but then again she IS struggling and I can help her out with my business.
