Election Adventures
Jamin called the party office and chatted with them. He set it up for me to go pick up yard signs, bumper stickers and pins. They told me to bring the sign in at night because they are having quite a bit of trouble with folks defacing and stealing them. Wow! I would think everyone would be content to simply have their own opinion and vote their conscience. Oh well. We've never had yard signs, but we do now.
Unfortunately, these were the only pins they had....none of the boys are going to wear them. LOL

Election Unit Study
Thursdays are SO Busy! I'm not even going to tell you everything we did today or what we did not finish today. I'm totally standing in awe of God's grace that allowed to much to be done in 17 short hours. ::snort::
HOWEVER - our election books are coming together. The "Election link" in the sidebar will take you to a list of resources we have used. We combined elements from 2 or 3 free lapbooks we discovered.
Tonight, we were ready to try to put it all together.....we needed more folders. We TRIED to glue three together as instructed in one spot....the glue is STILL drying. I got out our old Thanksgiving Lapbook and re-taught myself how to combine folders...and now we can add as many pages as we need.
The older boys have been watching incessant internet clips, reading articles, listening to radio etc. I let Zander out of the lapbook and he sat in with our reading. Arielle and Nolan did lapbooks in addition to our other activities.
Will these fit in a folder?
Nolan's Book
Current Election He has this page to color in states on election night...and write about the outcome. We'll also make a page or two on the Ice Cream Election.
History of Voting
Two Parties
Arielle's Cover
I loved her coloring and addition of the doodle on the right.
This looked like so much fun that *I* decided to make a lapbook....
The kids are teasing me about writing the first Sarah Palin Comic Book.
You can see more of our lapbooks at Our Lapbooks Page.

Fall!!??!
I love fall....it's snuck up on me this year. I can hardly believe that tomorrow is the last day of October. It is TRUE that years begin to zip by sometime in your fourth decade. ::snort:: I miss the change of seasons, putting out decorations did give me blessed relief from the political angst in my life.
Tuesday, the younger four and I set everything aside and dug out fall decor. Here are some shots of outside.
We usually have our *Jesus pumpkin* up and shining - but not this year. We plan to carve it tomorrow afternoon; after produce co-op and before basketball practice. ::snort::
The ground is HARD here...
Get that? LORD - IN CONTROL?
Arielle and I made this the year Mike was deployed. Each leaf has a verse on it about being thankful. I loved the focus and the memory of a shared sweet moment during a difficult season.
Ever the hostess with the mostest!

OFFICIAL G FAMILY ICE CREAM ELECTION
We are hi-jacking Mom's blog for the good of our education.
We are going to have Produce co-op members vote tomorrow in the OFFICIAL G FAMILY ICE CREAM ELECTION.
Mom says we are a cutting edge type of family. We're going to have internet voting too for those who can't make it to the poll.
Please vote in the side bar. Each person in your family can pick their favorite flavor. If you don't have enough computers, leave your votes in the comment section.
We couldn't figure out how we'd know which write in you wanted with poll form, so leave write in votes in the comment section too.
Thanks!
Vote early - vote often! JUST KIDDING.
Arielle and Nolan
De'Etta back - with the new scheduled posting I'm not sure HOW to make a post (with comments) stay at the top of the page. Any ideas? Do I just have to continually repost this until after Nov 4th? For now I'll put the link in the sidebar note.
I took photos ~ ::snort::
The Polling Place for tomorrow's ice cream election
All ready to go!
I told them NO CAMPAIGNING for their flavor. I suggested we put their nearly completed lapbooks on display...um...someone is a born campaigner.... can you make out the words under "vote"?
