Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketINSPIRATIONAL THOUGHTS!

I've yet to blog about Saturday, but we had a Chapel Ladies Day Out. It was fun - I was drugged enough to be there.....didn't get that must lay down thing until evening. LOL After eating, several of us went shopping......window shopping really....on the old historic block of town. I found a great store and had to snap photos of several things (more about that later - maybe) but for your inspirational consideration.......

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Homeschool Blog Awards

It’s that time of the year again! Time for the Homeschool Blog Awards. The nominations for this year’s blog awards began on Monday and continue through the 16th. Voting takes place in the beginning of December. A blog must be nominated by three readers for a category in order to be named a nominee.

Last year I had no idea there WERE Homeschool Blog Awards until I found out I had been nominated. I hesitated mentioning it this year because well - SURE it would be fun to be nominated - but I didn't want to seem self-serving. ::snort:: I decided to go ahead and post it here because I know my readers read far more blogs than I do and the ladies at the HSBA have invested a lot of time to organize the awards. Their effort is worthy of our support. They've asked you grab the little button above - save it to your computer - and publicize the awards. I am.

You can read more about the rules and descriptions of categories here.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Jamin Update

I find these Wisdom Teeth ordeals to be GROSS - and I'm thankful to never have had the experience.....this is the 4th child I've gone through it with. YUCK.

Jamin did great. He does NOT remember me taking these photos so is not upset that I would think of photos in his hour of need.

The doc said it was "good" the teeth came out. It turns out he had quite a bit of "chronic infection" in the gum, tooth etc of the one that's been hurting for over 6 weeks. Sort of irritated me that they would NOW think they could have moved faster.

He's out of it - nauseated - sore - but doing o.k. The worst part of the ordeal? He can't do weights or go running for a week. ::snort:: He, can however, work in the dining room at Chick Fil A.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I do NOT have a headache!

Thanks for the prayers all. Yesterday I had a functional headache all day. I did take lots of Tylenol. I came home from Bible Study last night and realized I did NOT have a headache for the first time in weeks. It lasted about 40 minutes and started again...but still functional. We ARE wondering if it's something in the house but we aren't sure WHAT. Jared has suggested we need to move back to AK. ::snort::

I do NOT have a headache this a.m. This is good. I got a lot done yesterday with a functional headache and I'm hoping to do the same again today. I may get back to normal - maybe. LOL

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket "Family" Fun Night

We live in an amazing W TX town that LOVES and SUPPORTS their military. Many businesses put their $ on the line to support their advertising claims with reduced prices for services and fun activities. Last year, I had talked to a business about having a giant welcome home party for Mike. We never worked out a DATE as Mike wanted to GET OUT OF TOWN and INTO THE WOODS with us more than he wanted a big party....so we went. The owners, however, said at that time that they loved the military, wanted to support the miliary, and liked my idea. I like to think that those discussions played a small part in the big extravaganza they planned for the military community last night.

For three weeks my children have been counting down to Military Appreciation Night at The Rink. Entrance and skating were to be free for ALL military families. Food, Go-carts, laser tag were also free to all who have a spouse deployed or who have had a spouse deployed in the past year. That would be us. Jamin had to work. I ended up in BED by 2 p.m. with too much pain to lift my head. It made me very sad for Zander to say, "Mom, I sure miss you" as they left the house without me. BUT I AM CHOOSING JOY! It's joy that Mike was home and could take them. It's joy that Josiah had the night off work. It's joy that Mike took some photos. Here you go in no order....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket *The Potluck Club Takes the Cake* by Shepherd and Everson

This series has won me over. I find myself waiting for the next one to be released. ::snort:: I still don't enjoy it as much as the Yada Yada girls....but I feel like the characters are becoming more real as the series goes along. I wish they could do that in the FIRST book. LOL

In this book we are treated to shocking rumors, family secrets, a mountain avalance and more hijinks from Lisa Leanne and Evie. Yes....Evie finally weds.

*In Plain Sight by Lorena McCourtney*

This is my favorite new mystery series. Our heroine is a "scrawney LOL (little old lady) who has reached the generation of invisibility". Ivy Malone: a spunky widow with an unquenchable curiosity.

In this adventure Ivy is hiding out in the Ozarks with her neice. Her three month stay in a small Arkansas town turns to be full of adventure and intersting new characters. Many of the characters from the first book manage to find Ivy's hide out and make cameo appearances in this book.

These are both part of my fall reading list.
