It was a busy morning rushing Dad through his morning routine, rousing Michael so that Krista and I could leave at 10:00 for Anchorage. We met two other female chaplains in the Muldoon Costco parking lot. I so NEED to run into Costco, but it was not to be today. We ended up enjoying lunch at Yak and Yeti as Sheba was unexpectedly closed. I enjoyed the food and the company immensely.
We got back in time to drop Krista off at the house and for me to run to a hair appointment, followed by Fred Myers and the library.
While I was gone Michael had gotten the push mower working and Krista had mowed the orchard and begun the edges. Luke started with the riding mower until it all of a sudden needed a new battery. Michael went to find a battery and Krista and Luke joined Jamin at Eklutna for a late-night ride. They had sun, rain, bears, a rockslide and beautiful rainbows.

Stacia got home from work, and I left to meet up with Arielle and the kids for Bible study before Michael made it home. Stacia left to get Benny to his soccer game at 7.
Bible study was good. I sometimes wonder if I'm group ready. I simply can't stand glib Christian platitudes these days, in writing or speech. This group does well avoiding platitudes, and the women are the nicest you'll find, but I think at times my observations may be to jarring. Yes, I DO try to be gracious. I need to remember God can handle my honest thoughts and emotions - others maybe not so much. It seems some of my filters imploded the day Josiah was murdered.
We met up with Cory and the kids coming home as Arielle and I chatted in the driveway. Benny reported his team won their game and he scored 2 points. The new cleats are working well. LOL
I got home to a quiet house. Dad was in bed, Allie was out, and Stacia was busy downstairs. Michael and I began to discuss an upcoming planned trip. We have been wrestling with details: work schedules, college schedules, Dad's care. I simply don't see how we can take the trip as planned. Finding someone to stay here for 3 weeks is impossible. This is just where we are. Either the 3-week trip goes forward with two of us going or we need to change plans so four of us can go. Allie and Stacia came up and joined the conversation...we caught up on each other's day and then headed off to bed.
