Photobucket BitterSWEET!

Stacia was excited to see Josiah today at chapel. She usually runs and tells him hi and is content to run off. Today she asked if she could walk with him to the Fellowship Hall. She stayed with him. They were at a table by themselves and it was sweet.

As I prepared to snap this photo I heard,
Photobucket
"I sure DO love you, Cy!"

"I love you too, Stacia."

"I miss you, Cy."

Ah.....

Photobucket Disenfranchised in TX?

These arrived for Mike and I. Woot!
Photobucket

As part of our unit study on the election process, I took the kids to the local homeschool co-op to vote. They are having a class for older students on elections. They had collected voter registrations of children 11 - 17. They had held early voting at House of Faith and 4-H. Our orange card said voting was to be at noon on Friday. We headed to the church. We had 30 minutes to make it work. (Co-op in the a.m. and a running seminar at 1:00 p.m.).

We arrived at 12:15 p.m. No one could find a voting set up. The teacher's assistant in that class said it was next week. I showed her my card. One of the students said it was THIS week. We continued to hunt. I joked with the adults and my children that the G family were going to be the disenfranchised voters in this election. We were leaving at 12:30 when our harried REAL LIFE employee down at the Voting Office (not the real name of the office) drove up. She says they're swamped down there. She whipped out the lists and the ballot box. Jamin, Jared and Arielle were able to vote as we watched. They didn't have the booth set up...but at least they had the experience. LOL We rushed the younger ones home and Jamin and I zipped to the base....just 5 minutes late...

Yes, Mom. Krista and Josiah will both be voting for the first time this year. Jamin and Jared have taken a real interest in politics this (YEP - I'm not the lone man out any longer!). Jamin is said that he'll be two months too young to vote in this election.

Arielle is our die hard. She was determined to keep the pool up longer. This photo was taken Thursday and she was still cleaning the pool. By yesterday, we all accepted the inevitable. The temps have been at 47* in the a.m. The water is COLD. It's time to put the pool away for the season. It's been draining.

Jared was awarded this insignia at CAP - he's now a Master Sgt....and um...some sort of leader, I'll have to check again.

Josiah surprised us by stopping by for a visit in the middle of the week. Yippee! He's finishing up mid-terms and feeling good about where he is in all his classes. This "Boy" has decided to learn how to SKY DIVE!

Photobucket

This boy "finally" got his "own" phonics books....and continues to create his "own methods of processing piano. His teacher told me that he has his own unique way of processing the info she gives him, but he plays things fine.

Photobucket Long Weekends Curse or Blessing?

Like all federal employees (dh works for the USAF), we had a 3 day weekend due to Columbus Day. The problem with 3 day weekends is that it gives you a 4 day "work week". We found ourselves cramming 5 days of ministry activities, school activities, family activities in to 4 days. It's been wild.

What has not happened:
Blog reading or blog posting
Entering reciepts into MS Money
Sleep
Much else

What has happened:
Monday - Drove 5 hours home from Dallas, met United semi (almost) for food pick-up (Thanks Roy for inventory as we were late), sorted and delivered United Food Co-op Food, Jared had basketball

Tuesday - School, led PWOC Bible Study, gym

Wednesday - gym, hair, produce order, regional and local PWOC issues

Thursday - gym, library, House of Faith, piano lessons, CAP, regional and local PWOC issues, retirement dinner

Friday - Produce pick up and co-op, voting for kids, safe running seminar (Jamin), basketball for Jared, shopping, retirement ceremony, regional and local PWOC issues

Today - spouse breakfast in 20 minutes, CLEAN HOUSE, PMOC (Protestant Men of the Chapel) family BBQ, Nutcracker practice for Nolan.....who knows, who knows....by brother and his wife will arrive sometime on Sunday. (I'm going to leave this post at the top as I hope to post some quick blurbs throughout the morning).
