Just a Day

The laundry stayed put!

Bible study was refreshing and fellowship was sweet.

Added two new members to the Asia Region Team (Board).

Talked with John S (Michael's endorser), did not talk with Michael. Tomorrow.

Worked on some details for the local retreat. I do like building teams and growing closer to each other as we work towards the goal.

Still brainstorming on retreat outlines....coming together.

Met Jim, Twyla and boys at the Food Court and then on to see, "How to Train a Dragon". Good movie, nice to visit with friends. Nice to see lots of friends there....starting to feel at home here in Misawa.

Did I mention school? We've finished two solid weeks of school this week. We'll probably get at least another 1/2 done tomorrow. We're pressing.

"There is no hurry..."

Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there some day. - Winnie the Pooh

Yep, we had an unhurried, enjoying our own rhythm type of day. We needed it.

I finished up this week's lesson in Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed.  I spent quite a bit of time lingering in His presence....knowing that He's got this next ministry session in His hands. He certainly had a plan, before I did.

Stacia began the day by running into the dining room, giving me a big hug, and then enthusiastically saying, "Hey, MOM how bout you cook dinner tonight?" ::snort:: I was out until 7:30 p.m. last night.

We finished, "Of Courage Undaunted". We spent over an hour working on some science booklets for our Zoology notebooks. We cut out and folded the rest of the booklets for this chapter of our text.

I'm really enjoying our look at Wilberforce....grammar, dialectic and rhetoric levels.

Jared finished 2 weeks today and will aim to finish a 3rd on Friday/Saturday. Charlotte Mason is proving true once again. You can sit and drag it out all day...or you can give yourself time limits and work hard for a shorter time and really accomplish the same or more. We're shocked that he's getting so much done each week.

I DID make dinner, and mopped the floors, chased laundry through the fields and communicated with various ministry partners.

Mike called in the small window between dinner and Akiko arriving for our Japanese lesson. WOW...time....lots to remember numbers said one way if you're talking about the hour and another if you're talking about the minutes. LOL  She was SHOCKED to hear that my laundry blew over and I can tell this is going to be the topic, once again between her and her mother. ::snort:: I told her I was thinking of getting rope or bungee cord (don't think we communicated THAT well) to tie it to the patio posts. I haven't done it as I'm a bit worried it will pull out the whole patio. ::snort::  She assures me it won't.

Akiko brought us this wonderful hard candy. It's hard to describe...but as it dissolves in your mouth (a hard candy) it begins to POP - it's like a giant POP ROCK. She loved the way the kids held back and watched me eat it first. Chickens. ::snort::

What day IS it anyway?

A whole day without Skyping, emailing or chatting with Michael. ::sigh:: I know, I know...BUCK UP....imagine WW1.

SNOW and WIND this a.m. - how strange.

We schooled. Reading about Lewis and Clark spending the winter on the pacific,  going down the Yellowstone, to Pompey's Pillar, to the Great Falls, always makes me homesick. This younger set, however, doesn't REMEMBER living in OR, or MT. School is slowed as I recount family stories.::snort:: I miss the Lewis and Clark Center in Great Falls.

Two hours of heavenly prayer with those who are interested in praying for a local PWOC retreat.

Two and a half hours mapping out "details" with my partner on various local retreat teams.

Library. Not one book on the Erie Canal. I'll need to replace Jeremy Camp. Still in the laptop, I guess.

Post office.

Commissary.

Ministry type emails and chats....and now it's 10:30 p.m. and I've not had dinner. It's time I was in bed. A very full day...good day.

Please do be praying for me as I prepare to share at a retreat the end of May....Savoring God's Presence....great topic.

Morning Surprise

There are simply no words to adequately convey my surprise......
My little garden is now inside....

What other surprises does Misawa have for us to discover? I guess we WON'T go to the beach today, after all.

TWOSday

You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count. Winnie the Pooh

I've been posting a pooh quote a day on my Facebook. I wonder if I can keep it up until Mike is home. Anyway, this quote sort of sums up this day.

It started with an exploding grain mill and ended with a basketball hoop on top of Jared. ::snort::  In between we read 30 pages from Undaunted Courage, took spelling tests, worked on math, played phonics games, mailed a package to Mike, dropped CDs-that-are-not-stuck-in-the-laptop off at the library, picked up Arielle's glasses, visited a Y100 store, updated a Prayer calendar for a local retreat, prayed and began sketching out some teaching sessions for a local retreat, interviewed with potential regional team members, emailed Chaplain advisers, researched Air Force AFI's, made it home in time for the dinner I'd put in the oven before I left home, enjoyed family circle....working on a fun system. Here's a photo of our devotions....
Mike has just Skyped. I'm outta here.

Exploding Grain Mills

I offer these photos as proof that I don't ALWAYS exaggerate when telling stories. ::snort:: When I say the grinder exploded - it did.
And the counter...stove...toaster...all covered with an off white film....
Getting flour out of cracks in a wood floor is tough! After quite a bit of work we now have 2 loaves of bread, 2 1/2 dozen of dinner rolls and a couple of dozen yummy Cinnamon Rolls. I used the Seven Grain Bread recipe that you can find by clicking recipe above and scrolling.
What we do not have is a great start on school! ::snort::  PS....not to fear, the boys had their table school done and we got all needed to accomplish in an hour of couch school. We're still on track.

Precious Princesses & Daughters

I shared in February that Stacia was obviously processing Michael's deployment. Today, she said several times, in a variety of combinations and ways:

"My Dad is gone. Mom is his precious princess. That's how I was born. I'm his precious daughter."

Yes, she is.
