Conference

Life sped up from here...each day was full of relationship, learning, challenges and details. Below are a few glimpses.

Kim spoke on Intimacy, Simplicity and Legacy. She led us to release, repent and rejoice.  Sunday Ch. Austin spoke on Keys to the Kingdom and Ch. Jackson led us in communion.  Workshops were interspersed and I've not heard of a clunker yet.....
Ch. Austin and I open conference....DeEmma is introduced to Asia.

Kim blessed us mightily
People keep asking me how conference went. I feel it went well. I can't begin to know or judge the word God did. I know that several have shared meaningful experiences with me. I thought things went very well. I was relieved.

On Sunday, a new leadership team was installed for Asia region for 2011-2013. Currently the team consists of myself as President and Pam Angell as VP Conference Coordinator. We are waiting, praying and watching for God to build His team for this season of ministry.  I've not seen photos of installation but when I do I'll snag some and share. LOL

Thursday Afternoon

One hundred and fifty-five women assembled from across Korea and Japan. This is AMAZING as it represents over 50% of the total number of women attending PWOC in our region in any given week.

PWOC Squeals reigned......

Love my Misawa ladies....

Thursday Morning

Somehow it happened. Necessary paperwork (though we'd talked with the manager several times earlier in the week) was NOT where it needed to be. Ch. Austin bailed us out - this put us several hours behind schedule for DECORATING....but today conference would begin.

Wednesday - one day to go

Wednesday morning the regional team, Kim, and Tracy joined Yongsan PWOC during their opening exercise. I spoke a bit....and they blessed me with a gorgeous tea apron, towels and hot pads. The apron says "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water," by Eleanor Roosevelt. I love it.

Kim and the other ladies received a bag of goodies as well
We spent the afternoon working. Cindy brought more loads of things to the hotel. Claudia arrived in Korea (PWOCI rep). Wednesday night I hosted an appreciation dinner at OUTBACK. This was a time to thank the team that had worked so hard...as well as our CTOF staff.
Regional Board - Cathy, Rachelle, Sese, myself and Lauren

Back at the hotel we continued to assemble nametags (Lanyards didn't arrive) and assemble bags....Cindy delivered so much stuff that we wondered what we'd do if there were a fire.

Doesn't everyone kneel to brush their teeth?

Tea pots and various and sundry decorations

Easels, water, candy

We dumped it all on the bed and began to sort and stuff
Assembly line...Tracy had come early to Korea for personal reasons and I enlisted her help

Lauren models the first bag

Tracy googled how to make tissue paper flowers and made some for the conference evaluation box
Kim took some nametags to her room and worked on them. Claudia slept. We called it a night at 10:55 p.m. when the bags were stuffed and all the details we could think of were done.

Tomorrow conference begins.  Misawa women arrived about 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

BTW - I've shameless snatched photos from the internet from this point onward. I didn't take a single photo after the pedicures. LOL

Tuesday in Korea

Tuesday found Lauren arriving in Seoul. Lauren and I spent time shopping, printing, planning, meeting with the hotel..... We also found time to play....after working so hard together - this was necessary.

I loved all the options for nail colors and nail art - It was CHEAPER than Misawa too.

Cindy (middle) and Lori from Yongsan joined us. These 3 ladies are ROCK STARS!

She took a razor to Lauren's feet

Lauren was suitably suprised

My conference toes

Rachelle checked in with us in the evening (she and son had been sightseeing earlier).

Kim, our keynote speaker arrived in the evening.

Cathy arrived from Yokota AB - the whole team is in place. Lauren and I spent the night working and visiting while everyone else settled in to their hotel rooms.

Monday in Korea

Monday was busy.

Cindy came over to go over details with me. We  had lunch together and she showed me "stuff". She began to bring stuff to Room 818.  We met with the manager of the Dragon Hill Lodge. We tried to track down some missing paperwork.

Sese stopped by when she got off work and we had dinner together and talked more conference stuff.

I continued to work on conference details in my room Monday night and looked forward to the rest of the regional team arriving on Tuesday.

Preparing a Place

Planning a regional conference from a different country is a bit of a challenge. We would not have been able to pull it off without the amazing help of Cindy and her women at Yongsan USAG.  Knowing we'd done all we could do...having received the last shipment expected in Japan...I boarded a plane for Seoul on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m.

These babies arrived right on time to go into a suitcase!

I arrived at the hotel at 1:00 a.m.  - 16 hours later.  I was so tired that I schlepped my MANY bags into the elevator and stood there for 10 min waiting for it to start. It wouldn't. Seems you have to insert a key to move...and can only get off on your floor...which means I spent a lot of time riding elevators up and down to pick up guest and supplies. LOL

I went to Korea early to "prepare a place" for the women we expected for conference. I wanted time to pray, to breathe, to check on details and to be on hand to welcome speakers and guests alike. Every moment was full - it was a good call.
