Yes, I'm Blogging....

because several in my family seem disappointed that I've not kept up to the minute. ::snort::

Here are some random shots from the last few days.... I love my packers and I think they love me. ::snort:: It's nice to have packers happy with you. All the storage stuff is packed. It will be loaded on to the truck tomorrow.

The kids enjoyed a full and fun day with the A family. Deja - thanks for dinner as well.

Jamin came over to help. He and Jared went out with a friend tonight and ended up over at Jamin and Josiah's apartment. They need some "home boy" time.

Tomorrow will begin bright and early with packers arriving at 8 and a painter at 9 a.m.

Masking tape "x's" seem to be the universal packer speak...they love all the tape. ::snort:: Thanks Angel and Betsy for the tip. They've not even given my precious books a second glance and went right to the shelf that was untaped to pack for storage. LOL

I don't think trips to Goodwill will ever end....

Take away my exercise ball and THIS is what I meant about pro-gear taking over my bedroom. LOL

Stacia was a bit uneasy this a.m.

Prayer Request Update

Some of you have been praying for Jerry - in the Prayer Request section in the side bar. Jerry was a retired Navy chaplain who was a faithful attendee and supporter of our local chapel. About 3 - 4 weeks ago he was diagnosed with cancer.

He died this a.m. Please remember to pray for his family and friends who will miss him. Through the tears, as I got the phone call and digested the news, I smiled...because our Jerry had such a dry sense of humor. He always had a twinkle in his eye - that's rare you know. I can see him, free of pain and having a grand time with Jesus.

Thanks for your prayers for Jerry over the last few weeks. He's now truly home free!

TRUCKS and BOXES

Zander is full of helpful advice for the movers....

zander move

Stacia is indignant, "What are they DOING with our things?"

We grabbed the moving book, reminded her (and all listened) what we've been telling her would happen, talked about where Zander's Dinosaurs are (on the truck heading to the ship with our hold baggage), let Stacia move her favorite things into boxes in the book....and now she's o.k.

I RESCUED my wedding dress....I simply can't imagine it in a warehouse and most likely it would be fine....but we've inherited someone's patio furniture from storage...so sometimes things get lost. I'll have the girls or mom store it for me.

Yes, I've taken tons of photos and when I can grab a moment, I'll post. You know for military gals this is old hat...this is what we do...but it seems that some of you are loving the inside look at a move. ::snort::

Deja - we're heading your way as fast as I can break away.

Games on Saturday

SSS Just a reminder that the topic of this week's Super Size Saturday will be GAMES. If you've written a post in the past on your favorite family games, find that link and come back to link to Mr. Linky on Saturday. If you've not written a previous post NOW would be a great time to share your favorite games. You can share current family favorites, you can share games you loved to play as a child, you can share games for toddlers or youth.....or all ages....

I'll schedule Mr. Linky to go up on Friday - 10 p.m. (CST). I look forward to reading your posts. If you need more info on Super Size Saturdays read this.

Be My Brain

I have just offered up two pairs of new panty hose that were purchased to be sure I had a pair for Jamin's graduation. Someone be sure to remind me before the 23rd that I need to buy some hose....

Also - this is not goodbye yet, my bloggy friends. Oh no. Mike disconnected me but was TEASING me and reconnected it...he's packing up computers (serial numbers on the outside - one for pro gear, one for hold, one for accompanied).

AND even when I am disconnected here.....I've been told if I sit in the laundry room at fam camp I should be able to connect. ::snort::

Seriously, that sort of husbandly joke really should be grounds for marriage counseling....::snort::

Quick Update

  • I'm still connected....
  • Hold baggage is gone.
  • The storage pack out is tomorrow.
  • We're exhausted...but are ALMOST ready for them....except we can't WALK through our home....Poor Mike may be up all night....and his PRO GEAR has now taken over our bedroom....not sure I can find the bed tonight.
  • I finally faced the music and got rid of both the size 6 and the size 18 clothes....I am still searching for a style that lets me look fat rather than pregnant - as I'm not. ::snort::
  • I am taking the best of my maternity clothes...I KNOW most of you said not to...but honestly at 45 it is HARD to find maternity clothes that fit my age....and if I'm to have another baby it will most likely happen in the next 3 years...I don't want my clothes in storage.
  • I'm wondering if I should take my wedding dress to MOM'S house for storage instead of a storage facility, "just in case" any of the girls need it while we are assigned in Japan.... ::snort:: - DO YOU SEE WHAT THIS EXCESSIVE PACKING AND SORTING IS DOING TO ME - IT'S THE DUST I TELL YA! I'VE HAD FAR TO MUCH TIME TO THINK AS I SORT THROUGH EVERY LAST PIECE OF RUBBISH WE OWN. ::SNORT:: In any event I'll have to decide by tomorrow.
  • Jamin came over this a.m. and helped us....
  • Josiah is DONE with his very last final of the year. He also came and helped.
  • I'm desperately trying to get all the things needed for Jamin's graduation corralled and out of the house before any further packing sprees....
  • BTW packers are loud....and business folks are nice to you when they hear packers in the background. ::snort::

Prayer Requests:

  • The kids are doing great but are unsettled....tomorrow they have a play date, pray that this is a great memory in the midst of a hectic time for them.
  • Smooth packing tomorrow....
  • We want to be a GREAT witness for Christ to our packers....they always pick up on the fact that Mike's a chaplain fairly quickly....could be the tower of books with theological titles.

Have I blogged about our LAST packers? I suppose not....maybe tomorrow...I must keep moving tonight. I think I can do ONE more load of laundry before the washer is disconnected.

HORRORS!

Mike made a passing comment...."I need to take the network down too...." do not be alarmed if we suffer an Internet blackout for a few days.
