*Whistle Stop West by Arleta Richardson*

Today the four Cooper children arrived at their new home in this book based on their Orphan Train story. None of us are sure that it is a good home. I suspect we'll need to read book 3 and 4 as well. For the life of me, I can't remember how this series turns out. I remember reading it years ago to Bre and Krista.

This is a bunny trail that we are enjoying....

Wow, I didn't realize Arleta Richardson wrote those books. I love her Grandma's Attic books! I will have to check out this series as well!

Jen - check this series out. I really am enjoying it. They are based on the life of a real person - I'd have to look to remember who the person was to Arletta - but they are roughly based on a real Ethan....sort of like Little House is roughly based on the Ingalls.

We LOVE them. That period in history has captured all my kids' attention when we hit the late 1800's early 1900's. We watched a documentary on The Orphan Trains last weekend and that made it even more REAL for them....because so far in this series most things are turning out happy....BUT we aren't at all satisified with the family that the Cooper children were just now placed with. They'll be moving to SD too.....stomping grounds I'm familiar with even if the young ones have no memory of MT, ND, SD......
